Being late in a church service

Well i am hindu, same situation here in our temples on festive occassions, no body is forcing them to visit, if one is really serious he/she should visit Thanks . Welcome to mylot. Cheers. Professor

Hi winjayoma No variety in the responses, be on-time or you are not a Christian. Ummmm. Our church has about 1/2 that are consistently late. I know for a fact that they are Christians and they pay attention to the sermon. We have a worship (music) for about 20min before the sermon. They are usually here by the time the sermon is started. I don't know why they are consistently late. Maybe they aren't coming for the music, maybe the sermon is more important. My husband and I are usually 15-20 min early. I do not like being late for anything, let alone late for church. Prosperous mylotting

Greetings, Being late in a church service? If my mother was still alive today she would not tolerate being late to God's house. It sounds like to me that these people who are late all the time needs a renewing of the mind, soul and heart. For the mind, if they are watching their watches this may mean it is all about them, their mind is obviously not on God. For the soul, they are not really interested in the word to fill their soul. For the Heart, their heart is not set for the right reason which it should be to give God all praise and come to His house for worship and give honor to the one who is the giver of life. We are to be glad when they say, let us go into the house of the Lord. All I say they need to know the real reasons in gathering with the saints. Have a blessed day.

These people who come late habitually or are impatient while the pastor preaches have not set their heart on things above but on earthly things. I think it can also be a sign of a lack of gratitude and worship towards a God who lavished us with love, mercy and grace.

To be late in attending church service is natural but being late always is stupidity. We should not take for granted a Sunday church service because it is the King of kings and Lord of lords that we should meet there. If we really love our God we should be on time and attend all its program.

God is not in their hearts. Going to church for them is only a routine and obligation. Why is it that most people are afraid to be late in work but not afraid to come late in church? They are thinking of the earthly possession rather than possession in heaven.

I think this people dont really love God. They are just there for religiousity sake. They are there because they are used to it or they are obliged to do it. Because the person who loves will enjoy being with the one he/she loves, meaning he/she will no longer mind or sometimes be able to tell time because he is already having fun.
