where have all the type O+'s gone?

i thought that only blood types A, AB, and B are very in demand but what the heck, almost all blood banks here in cebu dont have the universal donor type-Type O. what happened? i mean, are there many sick people nowadays who need blood? that the blood banks even run out of Type O? tsk tsk tsk..
