What happened in the Philippines?? Do you mind to share? I heard about the war in Thailand, Thaksin being in the country again and whatnot, but not sure what's going on in the Phillippines.

I am in the Philippines and yes, there are crimes that happen but I guess crimes also happen in other places. Despite the bad news that some people say about the country, I would still choose to stay here than live in another country.

I actually have no desire to travel to the Philippines, mostly because I have no clue what you have to offer. My son has been to the Philippines many times - he's in the Navy and they go there often. On one of his trips, he was robbed and beaten. He doesn't go anywhere alone when he's there now.

I think most of the Philippines is safe to visit. I know one island is not safe to visit but the rest of the country is. I would fly into Cebu Airport and visit several different island in that region. Like I would get a ferry to Bohol Island. There I would be able to see the Chocolate Hills. I long to go off island hopping and snorkeling in the Philippines.

To be honest I don't know much about the country. in my mind it has many islands so I suppose they must have a lot of sea food. also from the location I suppose it would be very hot.
If I get the chance I definitely would like to visit the country and know different culture. I have a friend from there and her english is very good. that left good impression on me.

I am in the Philippines and yes there are places that are not safe for travelers and tourists for example some places in Mindanao, if you are a tourist I'm sure you would go to places that are popular and safe. If you are first time traveler try visit the northern or central part, I would suggest CamSur, Palawan, Cebu, and Bohol.

Yes, indeed. But i think there are still safe places in the Philippines that people can visit. One of the safest places i know is Bohol and Negros. hmm.. I think Boracay is a safe place also. I havent really travelled around the Philippines yet so I cant say any place that I love most. I have only been to Manila, Cebu and the city of Bohol. But Bohol is a nice place, very peaceful.
