USB port is not working.

Many reasons why USB will not be detected to your computer... most common reason is the virus, once a USB is inserted without scanning for virus first these will cause system error depending on the kind of virus that infects your computer. next is the hardware or your USB port this may not work properly due to: 1 loose of connection, 2 USB port does not support the USB drive that was inserted to your computer, and 3 is the driver of your USB port. and the last one is your USB port has been disabled or it was damage.

This can happen due to driver problems or broken usb.

1. Reemove his USB drive from the USB port. Insert it in other USB port of your computer. IF it does not work Then u can say problem may be with his USB drive and not your USB Port. 2. Connect some other USB drive or Pen drive to your USB Port under discuaiion if that works that will confirm your USB port is OK. A USB drive connected to US port may not work in following cases a) Your OS may not be supporting plug n play and you may need driver for USB drive, which may not be available in your PC. b) USB drive is not functioning c) USB drive has malware / virus/worm etc d)USB Port is not working. e) version of USB port and USB drive may not match.

the typical diagnosis for your problem is to try another usb device on the same port, if it works, then you will know that the problem is with the usb drive and not your machine. if it doesnt function then the problem might be with your port or your computer, you may try the most tried and tested repair technique and just restart your machine. if that does not work, then you will have to use a second usb port which im sure your machine has.
