I do, just to look around. A lot of the times, there is a bunch of things that are of no use to me. However, every so often, I can find a good deal. I got a bunch of books to read one time for less than five dollars. Several months worth of reading material, which I thought was a good deal. So do you enjoy going to garage sales? Looking forward to reading your responses.

I do enjoy going to garage sales. I don't go very often but the times that I do, I usually find good stuff. I got a deep fryer at one that still works very well, and I also got a 10 man tent for $10! Garage Sale season seems to be starting up around here again so I may check some out. I know I am going to have one. I am always looking for new ways to attract people to my sale. I usually have my kids sell soda. Do you guys have any suggestions??? What is the best thing you have found at a garage sale? I like this discussion!

I have tried selling cookies before and it didn't go so well. Maybe I will try again. My kids really want to be involved in the sale.

I hadn't thought of plants before. That is an interesting idea. What types of plants would you sell? Thanks for the suggestions!

Hmmm I have never heard of those types of plants before! Although I don't have much of a green thumb (am just now experimenting with bonsai) I may have to see what I can do with plants at our garage sale-- such an interesting idea!

Yes I would love to. And just like you I would be looking for books, old CDs or an old memorabilia from days gone by. I hope the price is affordable. You are lucky to have gone to one.

Affordability is the key. Of course, there are times where prices are steep. However, many garage sales are over a number of days. Therefore, a lot of the time I go on the first day just to browse and return on the last day to buy. By then, things are marked down a bit a lot of the time, as they want to clear out. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Depends on what they have or how junkie it looks as to if I will stop at a garage sale. If things are not neatly displayed where I can look at them I usually just pass it by. My favorite thing to go to is an estate auction. Often you can get some really good stuff for a great price.

I do enjoy going to garage sales. In fact someone's trash is someone's treasure. I bought appliances in great condition and cheaper than if I buy it in the store. I love books and clothes, there are new clothes that has never been used at all and I am happy to buy 'em. Especially designer clothes at a big discount.

Very, true, someone's trash is another person's treasure. And you can find some treasures to. I think I would try selling items in a garage sale if they are in good condition, before pitching them. Because while I might not want it, someone else will. If I can make a little money on the side, then it's all good. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Yes, books tend to look pretty new. I guess its either books they are not interested in or maybe books that they already have a copy of that they received. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I hardly ever go to garage sales. As a matter of fact I think I have probably only gone to maybe 5 garage sales in my entire life, if that. I have heard that a lot of people find phenomenal deals there but whenever I've gone I find that the people always tend to charge alot and it's just always a bunch of junk... Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

It's a matter of finding the right deals. I do admit, that nine times out of ten, garage sales are just a place to kill a few minutes. However, a lot of the time there is a lot of overpriced junk. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I haven't been to a garage sell in a really long time, but sure I like them. You can find alot of interesting things. And why would you spend alot of money at some store for something you could get for a couple bucks at a garage sell. People buy stuff, they get tired of it, and they sell it really cheap, because no one really wants to buy used stuff. I don't mind if its used. As long as its not underwear.

I also like to stop for some garage sales. I like searching for old furnitures,or unique pieces of collection. I like small items,or stuff for display.

yes i do, but i only buy those that still in very good condition and not those that are not as it might only be more expensive if i will be the one to bring them to the repair shop or its only a waste of money if it only last in a week

Yeah, you got to be careful for things like that. There are some good products in garage sales. However, if you can find the deals, then its all good. Especially if the stuff is pretty much brand new. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I love having garage sales. I lover going to them even more. You never know what treasure you will find. Many bargains are just out there waiting. Sometimes we are not even looking for something in particular and we are rewarded unexpectedly.

I love garage sales. I have gotten many things, shell reloader, even a brush shredder. You never know what you will find, my clothes and the kids play clothes come from garage sales. One can not afford to send kids out to play with new clothes on, and one can not hold on to every piece of clothing the kids out grow.

Yeah, if you have children, then garage sales can really be awesome. Especially younger children, clothes of all types. It seems like clothes is something that gets sold, especially children's clothes. In fact, while there are some older clothes, some of them look brand new. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.
