This just in! The Obama administration is calling in a new expert to help them "brainstorm" ideas on how to control the oil spill in the Gulf. James Cameron! When I first heard this I literally LMAO'ed. Are they for real? I understand that he's got some experience with underwater stuff from his movies, but come on... A friend of mine suggested that maybe he's going to make cybernetic organisms to go back in time to kill the execs of BP, thus rendering the incident not possible. Personally, I think it's a good plan.

Well, this is the same administration who hired "kumer" for his administration.... *shrug* I expect anything nowadays...lol I am still thinking I like the option of nuking the well under the ocean floor to collapse and seal it. It sounds much crazier than it really is.

Dude. I could really use some white castle right now. They only hired him because he campaigned quite a bit for Obama. I don't know much about the nuking, but I think you forget that "we need to set the example to try to establish a nuclear free world"... ...

And what better way to start eliminating nuclear weapons than to use them for alternative uses like this?

He would be better off talking to Clive Cussler. He definitely has more experience in the underwater world. For those who don't know who he is... http://clivecussler.org/more.html

I was thinking the exact same thing.

Actually, this is a pretty good idea. He's a smart dude. Cussler probably doesn't agree with them ideologically though...so he'd be out. Where's Dirk Pitt when you need him?

hey at this point, they should be open to ANY ideas. How about a super huge tampon? Lets see if they REALLY work!

There would be a shortage of tampons though, because they'd have to use all the materials... I don't wanna see what would happen if there was a shortage...

I know this is a week old, but I had a little more to add to it. This question comes from an astrophysicist acquaintance of mine from another forum: "I don't care if he is an expert in underwater filming and submersibles, my question is if he has any clue what to do once the submersibles are down there."

Ha. I think the answer to his/her question is "No, he doesn't." To me, this seems to be just another political ploy by the administration to make it look like they're doing something. Obama is too little, too late. Thanks for sharing.

I like the going back in time plan. I had heard something on the news last week about a team of Saudi experts who were coming but either they came and couldn't offer any help or they changed their minds...or were stopped.

They were probably recognized mid-flight and were diverted to Canada.
