watch movies at the cinema...alone

Ever tried going to the movies by yourself? I have tried it once! It's okay if you love the person you're with (meaning, your self!). Sometimes, it is fun to do things on your own, to get to see who you are and what you like when you're alone. Actually, I was getting crazy waiting for the results of a difficult exam, so I went into hiding incide a cinema, and, voila! I discovered that I enjoyed my company! I'll continue watching movies with somebody, that's for sure, but there will be times that I will do so alone. How 'bout you? Ever done it? If not, would you care to do it?

Yes, I have gone to cinema and watched a movie alone one time when I went out to see Iron Man 2. At first I thought I was about to cry because I pity myself for being alone. Almost all the people who watched this movie have somebody with them to watch with. But the very funny thing is I had a blast watching alone. I even bought myself a big sized snacks and a large Coke all for myself...take note - i don't have to share it with someone which is totally great. Sometime in your life, there will come a point when you'll realize that there are moments when being alone is fun. Although everydoby agrees on the idea how moments shared with somebody special creates total happiness, I still believe there is also a satisfying enjoyment on doing things for oneself. The magical moment here is you tend to rationalize a lot of things when you're alone and it helps develop your thinking abilities as well. In my experience, being single and alone most of the time gave me the opportunity to develop as an individual. It has given me time to make myself a better, stronger, and more secured person. It has given me the chance to understand how happiness and security in one's life should come from yourself and nobody else.

Right! Spending time alone is good sometimes, in order to think about who you are as an individual, and not you as a spouse or a friend or a mother, etc. And, there are lots of ways for spending alone time. I've discovered that watching a movie alone is a fun alone time for me. But, it doesn't for others, but, there are lots of activities out there that could be enjoyed alone. Thanks for the insight!

I like watching movies online. It makes me focused on the movie more and not concentrate on other things such as talking to my friends, or etcetera. I also like it quiet.

Yes, it is much quieter when you're watching movies alone. When I'm with friends, I miss some lines because a friend would say something and I'd shift my attention from the movie to the friend

yes i've gone to see movies by myself. and i've also done other things by myself. it's nice to just be by myself; i don't have to worry about what the other person wants or thinks. i can do whatever with my time; i find it peaceful and relaxing.

yep, some people like doing things by themselves. sometimes, i'm like that, too. it is relaxing because you don't have to think of things to say to the other person when you're with somebody. thanks for the response!

I've done it tons of times. I first started when I was au pairing in Canada before I really knew anyone else. There wasn't much to do so I'd go see tons of movies alone. Since then I've gone several times here in the UK and I don't really care now. I like that I can go see a movie that none of my friends are interested in, and I also can't abide when people talk through movies so I tend to go to a day-time screening when it's much quieter (and my friends likely couldn't come due to work anyway). Whenever I mention a movie I've seen to anyone, though, and they ask who I went with and I tell them I didn't...they're pretty shocked. I don't get why it's such a big deal!

I think it's a big deal to others doing things like those alone. Like dining out. But, for me, as long as you're enjoying your time, why not? I agree about ti beeing quieter. I also hate when people talk during the movie and you turn to them and miss some lines in the movie. Thanks for the response and happy lotting!

Hi, gloryacam. No. I have never watched a movie at the cinema alone. I know that I would not mind watching one alone. I think that it would be fun to watch a movie alone. Especially a scary movie. I would have to sit in the middle of the audience for this.

haha, wouldn't it be more fun to sit at the back and imagine that some-thing is going to come out from behind? lol! i watched a romantic comedy so i didn't mind where i sat...

Yes, I have tried watching movies all by myself for many times. i remember myself going to movie houses when i have got long breaks. i don't have lots of friends at school and i don't like to mingle with people whom i don't have connections with. sometimes, it's really fun to things alone.. why? because you are capable of doing anything... :)

yes, haha, the power of anonymity! that's why i like the city i live in now. only a few people know me, so when i do things alone, no one notices. i could get things done better that way. thanks for your response!

Going to the movies with your special someone can be fun. A group of friends at the movies can be the highlight of your week. It can also be rewarding to go to the movies by yourself. Sometimes you just need that alone time to ponder your thoughts. The movies are perfect when you need just a little solitude.

Yes, I think so, too. When you're alone, you can ponder you thoughts, and in a cinema, you're really not alone because there are other watchers, but your focus is not on them, so it doesn't distract you. Thanks for the response!

I have watched movies in the theatre all alone and it was nothing but a ordinary experience for me (but i no longer do so as i have many friends now to hangout with) ....i was there for the movie i did watch it lol being alone or having a friend doesnt make much difference for me.I would prefer to watch it alone than to have someone who reveals the upcoming scenes like a chatter box haha.great day.

well, it was not ordinary for me, because it was a first time. but, yes, i also hate when someone who's watched the movie reveals the next scene haha thanks for the reply

I've only done it maybe twice that I can think of off the top of my head. It's not bad. I'd actually rather go to the movies and watch a movie there alone than I would rather sit at home and watch a movie alone. Of course I do love going with friends more than I like going by myself. It's always more fun watching a movie at the cinema or at home if you have friends with you.

yup, going out with friends, or even watching movies at home is fun when with friends. watching alone, when done once in a while can be fun, and good for the self, too, but when it's done always, it becomes kinda boring.

I have never gone to the alone cinema, and believe that I am never going to do it, me it happens to go to the alone cinema, is mas I take it as an exit good to spend it and to amuse itself, then if I do not have with whom to go I remain with the desires of going to the cinema.
