what is the best configuration of a laptop.

My child needs a laptop and i really don't know what will be the best configuration of a laptop to purchase for him. He is wants to play 3D games and needs some editing softwares to be loaded . i would also like to know which brand is also strong in the market?

Choose a branded laptop like HP, Mac, sony, Toshiba, Dell, etc. look for a AMD X2 or higher because this processor boost graphical performance like 3d rendering and texture n lighting. Combine it with a 4GB above Ram and nvdia or ati display with 512 or higher video memory.
In this specification, surely it wont fail your needs.

Are the AMD processors good in terms of heat emitted? i heard they get hot and the machine hangs or stops working if worked on for hours together ... i may have to do more investments on a AC then...

That's right AMD's processor emits more heat because its bigger than intel and sometimes its a cause of overclocking but don't worry AMD's cooling system can handle it, if you want you can also buy a notebook cooler.

You must buy a laptop that use amd processor. Amd processor is best for gaming. Check out the laptop if it use 3 gb of ram. Also check the hard disk capacity. 350 GB of hard disk is enough for 3d games.

I you want 3D games and loads of softwares,laptop should have atleast 3GB ddr3 ram along with a minimum 256mb graphic card.Try dell..........

How is toshiba's performance ? is Dell tough on its components as my child won't be using it delicately.
