The Congress never fails to amuse me. Digs Dilangalen and Roilo Golez almost mixed-up in Congress after Roilo Golez objected to Digs motion. It was pathetic the way two supposedly respectable congressman act like school children. I think Digs recent loss is still hurting him and has been trying to look for a reason to brand the 2010 automated election as a failure to justify his loss. Roilo Golez, on the other hand, won by a landslide, and believes in the integrity of the last election.
Do you think it was right for Digs Dilangalen to blow up like that? Do you think that Digs has a right to be suspicious of the 2010 election? Do you believe the accusations hurled by the losers and some IT "experts"?

to tell you the truth i dont know already on what to believe in. all these years when someone got lost in a election they always say they were been cheated. its always like that since then. they demand for a re-count and it took a lot of years to prove this things like this. but in any contest no matter where we are filipinos always say they were cheated when they loss. how can people let this kind of congressman run the country if they can not talk like adults?

For one, It was obvious that some people bought votes. It was even done in front of people. Plus, the voting scheme this year really was terrible. I was there 8:30am then I voted around 6:30. It was some what disappointing!

Oh my god, it took you ten hours to vote! What happened, did the PCOS machine in your precinct break down?
I think the automation took the politicians off guard. They could not rely on their old networks in cheating. Because they could not cheat, they think they were cheated.

nah, most people voted around that time. It was insane and slow. I really think it was terrible. The PCOS machine did not break down. It was just slow.

Hello the advocate,
that's why I am no longer watching it anymore, it's useless. Is this what people's taxes are going to? these public servants who either like to whine or refused to have the results be examined just they're the winner? we are loosing with this kinds of arguments when they should have just zipper they're mouths. besides, if i remember it correctly, shouldn't they be also focusing on the Freedom of Information bill? either they make more time for that or foret watching canvass.

Don't you want to be amused with their antics? :-) I too resolve every morning not to watch anymore, but it seems that my resolve is not that strong. I also wonder where our taxes are going, probably to these morons. They go to the canvass without understanding the technology behind the law that they enacted!
I have lost hope that they will ever take up the Freedom of Information Bill. They have a lot to hide and so are not interested in passing this bill. Just like the Anti-Dynasty Bill, it is doomed to the basement.

I believe people have cheated in almost every election ever; however, I also feel that 2010 was a really bad example. No one will ever really know how bad it was, but I don't think anyone is really happy with how the election was handled.
Our current congressmen seem to have no sense of right and wrong. I feel term limits would send them back to Earth for a reality check and perhaps would discourage others from being so publicly stupid.

I have yet to see concrete evidence that there was cheating last 2010. I saw more evidence when the election was manual. I do know that there was rampant vote-buying. I rode in a jeep right after the election and there were passengers there who claimed (I was eavesdropping, but in fairness, they were talking loudly) that they just came from the leader who bought their votes. However, no candidate has shown proof that there was cheating. I think most are hearsay and they are merely grandstanding.

That is true, I have yet to see an election where there were no cries of cheating. I was hoping that since the election was automated, there would be less accusations of cheating. But no... it is still the same.

You're right, I think cheating is ingrained here, but at least the cheaters had a hard time doing it. I think those who complained were the ones conned by scam artists. This morning, a losing vice-mayoralty candidate admitted that he made a counteroffer of P500T to supposed election operators to "protect his votes." He could not come up with the asking price to rig the election. :-)

Yeah I guess the ones who are counting the canvass are the outgoing congressmen and even the house speaker is even defeated in his bid to win the mayoralty of his hometown Davao City. That is why the canvassing is so slow since it has become the haven for complaints about being cheated. I think it should not be the venue since Comelec should be the one handling those complaints that they have been cheated in the elections. And not this session because this is the venue for supposed counting of ballots for the presidential and vice presidential post.

That is true, the losers are the loudest in the canvassing. They are very interested in looking for evidence that the automation failed so that they can tell themselves that they are winners. Its an ego thing with them. Even though they have resolved that they will not entertain complaints, the legislators find a reason to interject their complaints.

I think cheating was present in the last election but it is not that rampant. Perhaps it is not easy for the losers to accept what had happened to them last election. I can understand their feelings. I believe that Filipinos are so blind with regard to giving their votes to the right person. Those who keep on throwing issues won. They are not looking for the good things or the performance of the candidates. If you are famous, then there are chances of winning.

You haven't really missed much. Just sore losers venting their frustration and making it appear that they have legitimate gripes. Yes, Digs personifies the typical loser. It was really annoying how he would ignore an answer that contradicted his version of the truth, you know, the kind that would support his claim that he was cheated.

I do believe that there was cheating in our last election but it was not massive as what when we are still in manual counting. Only those losing candidates made that word CHEATING a big issue. In our country no losing candidates were not cheated during election.

No one in the philippines believe the election result. Even the automated election are being protested by many loosed candidates and supporters. Thinking of filipino people must be change.

Really? I hate to burst your bubble but I believe in the results of the election. All those who cried poll fraud are losers who have not brought any evidence to back up their claims. Take Susano for example. A simple signature to a non-disclosure agreement would have cleared up the matter of the CF cards in her possession (which she should not have). Or Barbers who suddenly remembers that he was offered months ago to rig the election. They are all just sore losers to me.
