hi there Kiran. i know you want to learn karate on your own. however, you have to have a mentor to help you. martial arts are critical and there are techniques and sciences on the executions. it would be quite harmful for you if you will learn karate with the unguided and wrong foundations. i took up taekwondo before. what i wrote above was told to me by my teacher. so i guess, you have to be patient scouting for a class and trainer. good luck on your interest. anything is possible. =)

Karate cannot be learned individually,I think.it is better to learn it under the guidance of a trained master. If you cannot have a master nearby, see whether you can find one at a traveling distance.Otherwise, forget the desire.

hi i teach a fighting class to my friends in karate ,my friends teach me other kinds too. One of the things Ive learned is that you can train your self, hey someone made it up! Also karate is not about fighting its about art and to be a good self teacher you have to respect the art and know your limits. Before each class we read of the history of martial arts, then we meditate, stretch and workout before we try to do karate because it is a hard art. If your interested, message me and ill type my lesson in to you. Its not true that you have to have a master, they can only lead you to the water they cant make you drink.
