Hello sagar. I am sorry that you have to share with the room with a smoking friend. I find it annoying as well because I don't smoke and I am sensitive to it. I think that it could be a better idea for you to find another room with someone else who does not smoke or at least he smokes outside the room if he does for the sake of your health. Take care, sagar.

Why did you choose to live with a smoker when you your self don't smoke? Your roommate is probably fed up with your getting upset over something that was a known fact when you moved in together. I wouldn't want someone to be asking me not to smoke in my own house.

I don't have problems with people who smoke but some of them just plain rude. Even if they know that you are pissed off with the smoke and the irritating smell they just don't care at all. They feel like they are the king of the world and anybody should accommodate and understand their smoking habit. The best thing this people should do is smoke outside anybody's reach. In this way they wont offend anybody. As with your room mate mind you I have share of many. They are the ones whose heads is already coated with thick nicotine and addicting fumes that they can no longer differentiate what's wrong and what's the good thing to do. Maybe you can change room just to end your torture.

Hi sagar: I think you have a very good reason for feeling angry with your room mate because it's not ok for you and this is something you don't have to tolerate. In my case, when my dad smokes I go to another place so I have no problems but in your case, well it's your room too so I think your room mate should understand that this really annoys you and smoke in another place. Thanks for sharing with us this situation. Have a nice day. ALVARO.

well, i guess you cant really just ask him to stop and expect him to stop... probably you can try in the nicest way you can to ask him to do it outside... you have differences and he should respect that.. both of you should...

Yes I agree I cannot stand to breathe in someone elses smoke, if they choose to smoke drink they should do it outside away from those who dont want to be around it.

Maybe you can pretend like you went to the doctor and then he told you that you now have serious complications because of second hand smoking. :P Kidding aside, it's difficult to ask somebody to stop smoking. How about setting rules on where he is allowed to smoke? We all think that he's insensitive but if you put yourself in his situation, he'd think the same of you, since you're trying to stop him from doing something that he likes. Make an agreement and set places on where he's allowed to smoke.
