Hmmm...a lot of times as well? lol. I guess all of us go through this...we all make mistakes, but you know, just always be positive in things. Just think of it as a learning experience.

Yes, everything in the past is simply a learning tool but all too often we think too much about the mistakes we've made, I think it's human nature

Casino chips mount up eventually - Sometimes people do win. If only I played, I could be rich. But lifes a gamble,if you dont try you wil never know.
Keep gambling and one day you may win, keep the faith.

I agree. I say this a lot. I tend to think before I act, so that's probably why. It's a terrible habit and I'm getting better at controlling it, but when I get nervous, it's even harder to control. It's a very annoying habit.

We often stop and think, why did I do that, or I cant believe I said that, but we still do it, time and time again. I guess it's just human nature.

haddowz I bet every mylotter here has said that a few dozen or maybe a few dozen times. One time that might have made a huge difference in my son and my lives was when He was so unhappy in his job. if only when he said he should really look for a better job I should have really pushedit but I did not. and two months later he was laid off, the small company was going broke and we should have recognized the signs a year before. thats when jobs were still plentiful.Well woulda coulda are all things we realize too late so we pick up the pieces, smile a little and weep a little but we will survive.

amelly as a mom I am wondering if she really was babbling at you or just saying what you did not want to hear but maybe needed to hear. I heard lots of people say Motherknows best.one day you will look at mom who babbles at you and think mygosh how did she get so smart? Did you do somthing maybe you should not have done? what did you expect mom to say good boy go do some more bad things? lol

I have done many things in my past that I realise were not good things for me at that point in time, but I further realise NOW that the things that didn't go well all led to better things for me now. I have learned from my mistakes, and I welcome the challenges that life gives to me. Challenges helped me to grow into the loving and accepting person I am today. I see other people bogging their lives down with IF ONLY and never moving onto the next good thing in their life. 'If only' doesn't lead you anywhere. 'Next time I'll...' can lead you to fantastic chances in life!

All the time. How many of us are really able to come up with the perfect thing to say on the spot? Not I...

Oh! So that's what you mean! Sorry but when I first read your discussion, I thought you were talking about "XYZ" and how most people dont say it that often even when its right in front of them.(Ill explain later.^_^) Then I thought maybe you were talking about gambling. Maybe XYZ is some sort of command like saying "Hit Me" or "Draw" during gambling. This assumption was made because some responders mentioned that they "bet", among other things. Only now, after re-reading it for like 10 times and 2 days later, I finally realized that you just meant how often do people say or think "If Only". Well, now that I understood, I do admit that I think it most of the time, but I add "Oh, well." at the end. That's because even though I recognize my mistake to the point of almost regretting it, I also do recognize that it has passed and there's nothing I can do about it so I just have to move on. There are a lot of things that I could have done better but I wouldnt be where I am today if I hadnt made those mistakes/alternatives right?^_^ With that, I conclude my post by relating what I initially thought about this discussion. You see, there's this abbreviation that my friends and I know about. We use it whenever we see it, most especially when we see it on each other but we rarely say it to a stranger. We got the idea from an article thats why I know its not exclusive to my friends. And so, I thought you meant "if only I had done or said ......XYZ" as in "eXcuse me Your Zipper is open."

WOW that is an easy question I have thought it many many times maybe in the thousands lol. I do it even more nowadays since I am older and I recognize a whole lot more of my mistakes.
