The state gives the DCFS gives way too much authority and control to un-experienced social workers. My daughter has been living in foster care for over 4 years now. I gave a (meaning one and one only) dirty drug test. And not only have I done everything required for the reunification of my daughter (which was a drug program, random testing, group meetings, NA meetings, individual counseling, con joint therapy, parenting) but I have continued to stay as close as possible by calling her every day, and only getting to visit with her for a lousy 1 hour per week, monitered and impersonal visits.
And 4 years now. I am convinced it is because i am a single parent and cannot afford a lawyer that we have been victimized by the state. Any one have any suggestions?

I can only say I´m sorry for you both. In my country there are free lawyer services for people who cannot pay a lawyer. It is done by young lawyers and they are supervised by older ones.
Why don´t they let you visit her more often even if they are monitored visits?
Take care!
