Normally a rose plant is grafted which is that a cultured bud is grafted on a briar rose. The plant should be planted in such a way that the budded portion is atleast one inch above the soil. Any shoots that come below the budded level should be removed as they belong to the briar rose. At least for the first year no rose should be allowed to bloom as it is necessary that the graft grows well before it can start yielding. Roses need rich manure which you will get in any nursery. Pests should be taken care of too.
