Different kind of readings...

Some people prefer reading books, but someone prefer to read online or ebooks. Do you think people read the same even using both types? What kind of paper books do you read and what do you read online? Do you make any difference? In my case, I love reading paperbooks. I also read on Internet, but there I only read short information, articles, news, some information I need to find quickly.

I prefer reading good old fashioned paper books. I'll read stuff online if I have to, or if I think it might be interesting like a short article or a blog. But nothing beats actual pages for me. I love carrying a book with me wherever I go and getting lost in new worlds. I absolutely love hard cover books! Paper backs are cool, as long as the story's good... but I enjoy a good hard cover book.

That's right, hard covered books won't get damaged so much and give the story a better look. That might be one of the reason why hard covered books usually are more expensive. But I agree with you.

They're more expensive because they cost more to make and they're much more durable. They last much longer. I'd buy every book I wanted in hard cover if I could afford it. It's the story that counts, but I do prefer to read the story in hardback.

Nowadays, I prefere to borrow a book from the public library. It's cheaper, it doesn't occupy any space at home as I return it once I've read it...and, at the end, I almost never read a book twice.

hi camomile! i like to read both books and e-books.yet i prefer the conventional one.i can't imagine the world without books.I'd be missing the smell of the paper and the feel to flip front to the back of the book.i also read books on internet but only for some quick information.my eyes can't stand to look still in front of the monitor for a long hours for sure.;)

That's strange, I also smell the paper inside a book every time I get a new book. This is a habit I can't get off.

i love reading. i just love it when i learn something. i just constantly want my brain working. well, i think i do or practice almost any kind of reading. i have high tolerance to reading different literature (provided they are written in English). what i enjoy the most are books that are full of realistic information. i love fiction, but i like materials that speak what is out there in the world. for light reading, i like fictions and novels. i am so glad that my father trained us to be quite bookish. there are so much information in the world, and those would be such waste if they aren't known. whenever i feel lazy reading, i visit MyLot because i learn a lot from here. opinions are the fuel to one's personal library. ;-)

Almost everybody should read and there shouldn't be any kind of place for feeling lazy. But I really understand you. Sometimes, I also want to read but I feel too tired to do so. Anyway, I love reading too and I don't mind which kind of book (if ebook o printed on paper). My favourite books are poetry, theater and historical novels and I also train my children to read books and explain them that it's very important. So in summer, as school holidays are very long, we will fill up our apartment with books to read ;-)

I prefer to read books itself, I can carry it anywhere I want to even in the bathroom whereas the ebook and online readings are so difficult, my eyes gets tired too when I focus on the screen for too long.

You're right, paperbooks are more practical. I also take one with me when I have to go the dentist or anywhere else where I will have to wait.

i read using ebooks and the usual book..but i do prefer paper book better..maybe because it has the atmosphere of reading and you would not strained your eyes like when you read ebooks..i read two books using ebooks which is the undomestic goddess and shopaholic in manhattan..both by sophie kinsella..i was exhausted after finished reading both books because i stared at my phone for a long hours and it is not good actually for our sight and health..even though it save paper and it is lighter than the dictionary-sized book..i don't really fond of it..

Ebooks save paper, that's right, but use electricity when you use them on your computer. So in that point the following question is: what's healthier or better for the nature?

I loved reading paper books too though i used to read ebooks also. But after a while i got used to the ebooks and now i love it. It's easier and when you order it you get it right away. Plus it never tears and you can save it for so long. Sometimes I still make an effor to buy paper books cause I love to have a library.

In this point you are right, an ebook you may get it straight away and staying at home. They usually are cheaper than paper books and they don't fill in any place at home if your home is small.

In my opinion nothing beats a good real book. My books come everywhere with me once I get into them and many of them look old before their time due to this!! I have also read fanfiction online and although I enjoy reading them I feel sitting at the computer reading is so uncomfortable and prefer to curl up somewhere with a book. I also read a few magazines each week when I am not at that moment into a good book as I do like reading real life stories

I prefer paper or hardback books. I read all the time and I have tried out the amazon kindle. Its just not the same as having a actual book in my opinion. I do read information online like the news, articles, celebrity gossip, etc. stuff like that.

I love to read mostly murder mysteries.I have tried reading books online and have found it hard to get really into the book as I normally do.I have also tried listening to books and find the pace way too slow.I read really fast and the readers seem to read very slow to me.So I have just stuck with the paperbacks for the most part.

I just bought a nook about 3 months ago from Barnes and Noble, and I absolutely love it in every way. My friends all think I'm weird because I tell them it's no different for me to be reading an eBook on my nook as opposed to a regular book. I even saw an interesting debate on the official nook blog run by Barnes and Noble about a woman who wrote a book about eBooks (redundant huh?) and she said that people read eBooks completely differently, and that they don't retain the information they read on a screen. I completely disagree with her, but the debates that ensued were fun to read nonetheless.
