This is one of my all time favorite crime story ever, who could look at the face of this sweet 10-year-old girl and ever imagine her to be one of the youngest serial killer ever discovered. Was this youngster who killed her playmates without any feelings of guilt the result of a monstrous family or a bad seed or something else?

pls. read up to the last chapter.

I've never heard of her but I was really startled when I read this. I'm really curious what maid that girl kill her playmate? did she repent the things she did? I have so many questions. I'll research about this because I really can't imagine a 10 yr. old serial killer. This is really a horrible story I hope nobody would become like her.
I think that her parents have something to do with her behavior. I'm not blaming the parents but they are the ones who teach and give values to their children. Maybe they didn't give much attention to this girl.

I guess there must be something wrong with her, I got hooked up on her story but I read this 5 years ago so now I almost forgot the details but never forget what she did. There are still other children who kill if you want to read more of the story on that site. But this girl's story is really different, she is indeed psychotic cause she's serial killer.

This kid is so horrible, she gives the creeps to those people who wants to adopt and thereby some poor kids don't get to good homes. She is just so so evil.

You know, I enjoy watching suspense thriller movies. But when I red this story to the link provided here, my heart melted like butter under the heat of the sun. Never it entered my mind that a 10 year old sweet looking girl could be a cold blooded killer.

Yah, it was so scary! Her family should be blame for what happened to her, she wasn't treated right.

I read the story just now. It is so terrifying to discover how a 10 year old who looks so sweet and kind could without any remorse and repentance. Even if she is young, she has to pay for what she did.

She had paid for what she did, she was raped on her teenage years.

That is so horrible. I once saw the movie, The Bad Seed, and I think this girl was a genuine psychopath. She lied, manipulated people, etc. Oh they say she came from an abusive background, but surely she could have run to a teacher or a police officer for help instead of killing her playmates. Even if she was a psychopath, there are probably many psycopath's who do not resort to murder as they do not want to be found out.
But I guess that without a conscience, there is no guilt at doing wrong and this has been carried to an extreme.

It was more sinister that Children of the Corn that was about children who were pagans and took the pagan religion to the part that most people do not consider, human sacrifice. The Bad Seed is about a perfect looking child who is morally evil and a born psychopath. It extends on the idea that just as the people before the Flood were perfect in body, and yet their minds were evil. It is based on the theory that the more perfect looking, handsome and beautiful a person is, the more they are devoid of goodness. At the end of the story, the mother of the evil girl has another baby and the baby is so perfect and angelic and is still born. The underlying message in it is if that baby had lived, she would have wound up like her sister, evil and devoid of conscience.
So in Children of the Corn, they were influenced by a false pagan religion, but in the Bad Seed, the girls were born completely evil.
I do not know what is worse, but in the Children of the Corn, the message was that not all religions that worship nature are good. The pagan gods of the past were cruel and they demand much from their worshippers.

She clearly has mental problems and how she was raised had alot to contribute to that. And it happened in 1968 where violence thru the media and video games arent prevalent yet so how much more today right? Although what she did is truly 'unique' and very disturbing.

I get confused how this people do gruesome crimes and disturbing acts just like that in that year where media do not show movies of crimes that much and where people are much kind and religious compare now .

I think it is the way she was raised combined with what kind of person she choosed to be since lots of people have are mistreated and have a bad family and still become good people. Also the way people wear reasoned to treat blacks in the back reminds me of her.

Yes, it just so sad that at her young age, she already matured in terms of killings.

Wow. I can't believe that a 10 year old girl would be able to do that kind of stuff. But I hope that everything is still not too late for her, she's still 10 years old so maybe she still have a chance to change and become a much better person when she grows up. Poor girl...

I think at the end she got married and have a family, I still did not read her story again. All she needs is a good guidance from adults so she can forgot what she did and move on and be a better person.

Most of the reason why serial killers and notorious murderers kills is the family background. But some are naturally born like that.

I finally re-read the story after almost 5 years, and it was found out that her mother is a hooker and he step-father is a thief. Her mother didn't want her and never treated her right. Her step-father love her but after he was put to jail, his visit to Mary stop. She was then put into a good care and later got pregnant and became a good mother to her child.

Children at young age can be train to kill without remorse.I still remember those days were carton like tom and jerry,Run Runner are actually ultra violent,it show like bat, bom, violent against each other has no consequence.Even in some corner coutries children soldier are train or force to kill others.Even not subtle violent games in Playstation and such provide violence insentivity.

I have read the whole story of Mary Bell a 10 years old girl who is a murderer. I really felt cold knowing that a 10 year old girl had the power to kill her playmates and does not feel remorse after doing it. the mere fact that she is laughing hard and seemed amused seeing the coffin of her victim is chilling to me.
She is a very manipulative and clever girl. and sometimes I think she is really born to be a killer. The good thing is that she started young and was apprehended at earlier times. Unlike those other serial killers who is already adult before they killed someone and more victims. It is a disturbing fact that killers were already young at age.

That's crazy - a murderer at 10! Like you said, she had a sweet face - yah, how could anyone think that a girl so young could be such a killing monster. And I can't believe she was basically let go in the end and could live in anonymity as an adult . . . what's up with that? I would never think that any of my daughter's friends would ever be capable of such a thing . . . but I'm sure that's what the parents of the victims thought as well.

Nobody will ever imagine a kid can kill a kid like her and in the way how she killed those poor kids, it's like she is just playing. Very horrible, that is why I shared her story to you guys. Take a good care of your children and never trust to someone you don't really know.

Hello laniekins,
I have not read this book and I am not sure I want to read an horror story like this one, even if I like horror stories.
In many countries of western Europe, you can't judge ten year old kids : they are said not aware of what they commit. This teen with no feelings of guilt is probably a psychotic serial killer who will spend the rest of her life in a mental diseases hospital.
Bad seed I don't know, but bad luck for the victims and the families...
Have a good day.

Did you read the whole story? I read that 5 years ago and I'm getting oblivious this days so I forgot the ending but I think they let her go in the end and she had a normal married life, if I am not mistaken. I will read it again one of this days.
