Number of times You Pray in a day.

How many times, do you pray in a day. I pray twice a day. Once as soon as I finish my bath in the morning, I do the pooja to our gods, and before I go to sleep in the night I once again pray to god thanking him/her for all the things which happened on that day, and hoping for a better day the next morning.Of course some days I visit the temples also. What is your way?

hi ramesh,
i do pray for every chance that i've got. i usually say a little prayer of thanks to Him for every blessings that we receive even the smallest one.
my husband and i always pray before having our meal, and also before we leave the house and at night we do have our devotional prayer before we sleep.
and usually i do pray before doing any decision in my life or before doing anything whether its work or what...asking for His help & guidance.

Wow, that is nice. Yes I have seen Christian families, always pray before their meals, and thanking god for that meals. That is a very nice gesture, of course some Hindus also pray before taking their meals.I have to admit that I am not one of them.

i think this is something that was taught to us by our parents since childhood. and yeah a good gesture and habit...thanking God for all the blessings that we are about to receive and have received.
well even if you are not one of them i assume you have your own way of thanking God and showing your appreciation for everything that He has given you.

Hi CK,
I am know you always do as i can feel the calmness and peace in your heart and in every interaction i have with you. you are so blessed and keep up that special bond with God. my youngest son at 7 he alredy knows how to pray the rosary and even lead the prayer every night. of course he also leads the prayer before and after meals. have a blessed weekend my dearest CK!

I also pray twice a day. Once I have brushed my teeth I will pray. Thanking God for another day and praying for all who need prays. Then before I go to sleep at night I will pray again and thank God for the day that I just had; praying again for all who are in need of prays and who have left the earth that day.

I try to pray at least once a day, but sometimes I forget or fall asleep while praying. I don't have any set number. If something happens and I think I need to go to God about it, I will pray right then.

Hi Ramesh,
I pray a lot everyday. i always ask for blessings and guidance the moment i step out of the house for work, the moment i ride cab and start doing my work. i never forget to offer him a little prayer for every little blessings i receive, for the job, for my co-workers for my friends and above all for my family. everytime i reach home i also pray that i arrive home safe. we have food to eat, and i have a family to be with. never ending prayer. that's why my day is always filled with so much life and love and blessings...

I try to pray at least once a day. Some days I do more and other less. It depends on the busy type of day. I know I should more and I signed up to pray for the sick people in our congreation so hopefully this will get me more into the praying. Also I do not have alot proverbs in my head I seem to pray the same prayer over and over again. I admire people who can quote the bible or have certain pslams in there heads. I am not the good in that regard.

Unique16, even in our Hindu religion, we have a lot of shlokas (something like latin words in your bible), but I do not know any of them. I still remember the simple prayers which my grandmother thought me,more than fifty years back. I just recite them.So I am also like you.
It is a nice gesture on your part to have signed up to pray for the sick people in your congreation.Keep it up.

For me, praying is not just mainly petition, asking for forgiveness etc. but it is mainly talking to God, it may even be talking to Him with your problems or what you did for the day. It is praying as long as you are talking to God. So i say, I pray at least once a day. I can no longer track how many times I talk to God in a day.

Nice answer.It seems you consider god as your friend, philosopher and guide. Yes, it will be nice to speak to god, once in a while. I also speak to him, whenever I have problems which I am not able to solve.My mother also speaks to god, and at times cures him also.

praying to God is not something I put time aside to do. I just talk to him whenever I think about him or am reminded about him in some way. And of course when something bad is happening I pray even more but I also praise him for all the good he has done often.
I know of people who stress about having to fit in the time to pray each day, but you dont have to. You can pray anywhere, anytime, I even fall asleep praying when I am having a bad time and cant sleep.
Just pray whenever you can, and dont feel guilty for not praying enough.

I don't have specific times allotted to pray daily.Just I remember god whenever I want to.Most of the time I pray to him is when the stocks I invested lose its value...LOL!But alas!He never listen to me in that case.Well,I go to temples only when I like to and not every week.

Ganesh, it is not only you, but most of us remember god, only when we face the problems, are when we loose money.So it is always better to remember him at least once a day.

In the morning I usually pray and if I miss the time then I will pray while I moving though. I don't think I need to stay idle to think of the One above us but we can pray everytime as far as we wish it to be, I can pray anywhere and I think I do not need a time to think about Him because He is ever present among us.

In my younger days, I was like you, but as the years passed, I started to pray after taking my bath in the morning.

I pray whenever I think I need it. But usually, I pray twice. Before I sleep, thank God for the fruitful day He has given me and my family. Then in the morning when I wake up, I thank Him again because I am still alive and healthy.

My grand mother thought me the same thing, but now days, I do not pray when I wake up, but pray after taking my bath. I had even forgotten the lesson, that I have to pray when I wake up, since it is a long time, that I have done it . Must start doing it some time.

i pray twice a day, 1 before getting out of the bed in the morning and 3 before i go to sleep at night. but during the day i would breath short prayers to God especially if i need guidance and enlightenment in the things that i encounter. I know God doesn't really require us to pray in a given place and we can pray at anytime and anywhere we want too..

Excellent response.Yes, I think most of us make short prayers to God when we need his guidance and enlightenment. I completly agree with you, that we can pray in any place, anytime and anywhere.If we are praying honestly, our prayers will be definitely heard.

hello praying is something which can be prayed at any time the persons who prays for times may not be a good person he has to be a good human being you just need to be a good person god likes only nice people and he helps only those person those who help others and i do pray whenever i feel so i thank GOD FOR EVERYTHING HE HAS GIVEN ME

When I was a young, brainwashed Roman Catholic I prayed on a regular basis. Luckily, I started questioning and researching and began to realize the hypocrisy and lies that are prevalent in all religions. I became smarter and stopped praying, because I realized it did as much good as wishing on a star.
So now, I thank the people in my life for being wonderful to me and try my best to be wonderful to them in return. I would rather let my friends, family, and other loved ones know how much they mean to me instead of attribute it to what is no more than an imaginary friend.

You know jupitercrashing, when your time is bad, and you are feeling the heat of the bad times, you need a crutch.Prayer is one of the crutches.Of course I respect your views.I very much agree with you that there is lies and hypocrisy in all the religions, and the religious heads make a fool of all of us.
Some years back, I was also angry with god, and stopped praying for some years, but then, once again I started praying because it gave me mental peace.
