For two years now all that I do is go online.
I don't know what will happen to me if you removed internet and my laptop.
I can afford to loss everything except my laptop and my internet connection.
Is their a word like internet addiction?
I mean people who got addicted to something is put to rehabilitation.
Is their a rehab for internet addiction?
Is their really people who commit suicide simply because they can't afford to have internet in their house? Or becuase he has no more computer?
Its weird but I think I will be put in mental hospital if I loss my laptop and my internet connection.

Theirs no more normal people..
As we don't know how to define normal anymore.

I've been using internet for year now since I was in high school and It's a great tool for everyone not only students. It's another way of communication with people from distant places. If there will be no internet in the next years then we are doomed.

I am the same. I am completely dependant on technology. Even checking my e-mails takes priority sometimes over welcoming my partner home after a long day at work. I have never heard of rehab for it. You could just try your own though. PULL THE PLUG! I dare you! I dont think you'll make it more than 48 hours if you're anything like me lol :)

It did happen. When I encounter a power shortage.
For eight hours theirs no electricity.
So I just sat in the chair.
Thinking what to do.
I feel helpless.
Thinking of everything I do online.
I feel emptiness for the first time.
And when electricity return.
Its feel my life return to normal.

I am the same but I don't think I'm addicted that much. I think you should start taking time to other stuff before anything happens. I mean, with what you have said and felt if there's no more internet or power shortage. You could slowly turn your addiction into something else and if you really can't do it then why don't you try to benefit from it. Make money online just to make yourself productive. But, one good advice, just staring your computer for more that 8 hours seven days a week could make your eyesight poor. Before it gets any worse, you should minimize your time in internet surfing and look for another hobby. Cutting the time for internet surfing and doing something else could also exercise your body a little bit. :)

It is not about internet addiction, it becomes necessity of life without this very less things are there, internet is lot to me by many reasons.
you get to know the latest and updated information , you can be in touch with lots of poeples, you can socialize yourself, you can make your dream true.
it is more than what you think and you, gives you challenge to fight with world.

I think the best way is just simply enjoy what you do.
I mean.. if I want to stop internet surfing then the second question is.
What will I do next?
What will I do the whole day?
I think internet keeps me busy the whole day.

well there is a thing called internet addiction just as we get addicted to some things we keep doing again and again all you need to do is just focus on few other things take a look around your house for a while if you want you may hold your laptop with you and fix some wardrobe then gradually try going out and take a stroll in garden with laptop of course slowly try doing these things without laptop and see how you feel you will soon be out of addiction i can tell you coz i myself have tried it ........... keep buzzing take time for yourself........ relax, money or technology is not running anywhere you can access it whenever you lke, live life breathe fresh air see the greenery.few left now but whatever ........ enjoy life

I can't even think about my life without the internet. I do everything from my computer. Pay bills, shopping, making money, entertainment, communicating, and a lot more. Getting information is so easy that I can't imagine me without internet. My son need something for school, internet, a new recipe for a spacial dinner, internet. Well you get the point internet is part of my life, totally addicted too.

I don't think addicted is the right word to use right now..
I think we are just dependent..
Internet dependent..
Sound good right? lolz..
I get this from previous response.
I think rather than think of it as a negative thing.
lets think of it as positive thing.

This too is an addiction. As you are aware of it,you should find ways to get out of it too.Stop depending on internet for all the things and go out door for some simple tasks at the least. You should interact with real life people too.Otherwise you will be forgotten.

I don't mind if I'm forgotten..
I'm not that legendary to start with..lolz.
But I'm happy.
I know I need to get a life.
But this is my life.
So the only life I have is this four walls around me.
And my laptop.

I also think that if i loss my internet connection but i bet it's just a thought. There's nothing serious that'll happen to me. It won't affect my understanding of my life and just how important it is compared to some gadget.

Same here. I couldn't live a day without even using my laptop plus the internet. and i think i'm too addicted to it already that i act crazy when sometimes there's a problem with the connection or i would be really irritated when the connection is slow. i just couldn't think that i could go a day without checking all my accounts in the internet.

I guess its normal now a days..
I think its not something to worry about..
Or is it?
Its like in America.
They say one out of six americans are obese.
Does it means its normal to be fat now in america?
I think its a health issue.
And I think its also the same in here.

I agree. As phone and gadget are everywhere.
I think this is the reason why the worth of living now is much more higher that a decade ago.
Even children now is addicted to gadgets and stuff.
Just think about it.
30 years ago no body think that theirs a market for children below 15 years old.
They think this children has no money to pay expensive things..
That why toys are for kids and gadgets are for big boys..
Now even kids is a target consumers.

hi bulastika. i havent encountered such addiction. but all i know is that, "too much of something is bad enough" (from: spice girls song...hahahha) but yeah, thats true. i just hope you wont go to that point of losing your mind over no internet connection. maybe you should try to go out with your friends or be busy with something. or perhaps you could look for a job, that would be nice. but if its really that worse,(which im hoping it wont be) you should try to have a check-up with psychologist or something for early detection of any inclination to mental problems. anyways, have a nice day.^_^

I don't think too much of something is bad enough.
Theirs are things that too much of something is much better than nothing..lolz..
I think I don't need to see a doctor for this.
Beside if its not broken way fix it.
It does not affect my ability what so ever just my eyes..lolz.

Its perfectly normal for people to be 'addicted to the internet' I mean if you talk to people you will probably find that you are not the only one that is spending that much time on the internet. We all do it!

I agree. Now I don't find it not normal.
I think its normal.
I'm just thinking that what is normal?
Is it really that normal?
I don't think so.
Its an epidemic.
More and more people just setting down..
Going online.
Just imagine the fats that needs to be burn..lolz.

My laptop has become sort of my appendage. I have an Internet-based job. I make a living on the Internet. But no, I don't think I'd lose my mind if I lose my laptop and my Internet connection.
Hey, you should not be too obsessed with the Internet. Try staying away from your laptop for a day. There is more to life than being online all the time.

How do you earn online?
And how much a week?
I want to make a living online too.
But so far I earn about 5000 pesos in good months and 500 pesos in bad months..
I want to earn a constant 50,000.00 pesos earnings.
And I'm hoping I can earn that much.

hi there. don't go overboard and think that you are addicted to such.
however, if you go to the extremes of inflicting harm to yourself just because such hobby is taken from you, then you have a condition.
it also depends on what you do over the net. if you are hooked on video games, then there could be potentials that you will be addicted.
have you been losing and abandoning other functions just to go over the net? say for example, did you lose your job because of it? do you have time still for family and friends? did your habits change because of it? if your answer is no,then i guess you are still ok.
you have to understand that if this hobby starts changing you and your relationship towards others, work and your old self, then you might be already addicted. you can help yourself. you have to remember that these things should be controlled...not you being controlled by them.
there are times that i feel guilty spending too much time in front of the pc and just surfing unlimitedly. and when i feel the guilt, i take a break and get back to the real world. ;-)

No, I'm sorry to say, I don't think there's a rehab for internet addiction, lol. At least I've never heard of one, lol. I've had this computer for a year and 3 or 4 months now and I think I'm addicted to the internet, too. I'm on it just about everyday. I was on it everyday when I had my first computer, too. I think the internet has been a blessing in a lot of ways. I don't know how we ever made out without it.

I agree.
Rather thinking this is a curse then lets think this is a blessing.
Going online is not bad. As long you know when to stop.
Right now I have no problem eating and going to bathroom and even going out the house.
just the house but not outside the gate..lolz..
Its more on financial reason..lolz.
But it means I can stop internet if I want too.
It just happen that I rather go online than watch tv.

It's not good that you're ready to lose everything except the laptop and the internet. I haven't heard about a word that describes a person that is addicted to the internet, but I'm 98% sure that there is one, because you're not the first person with such addiction. 1 or 2 years ago I read in the newspaper about a man, who has been married with 2 children and for 2 years becomes so dependent of the internet that in the end he has been spending 12+ hours per day on it. What was happening around him? He left his work and the arguments with his wife began... In the end, she did not stand and went in the court to try to divorce with him. And the judge decides to divorce them and to forbid the man to have any access to the internet for some time plus something... That's what I remember I think you should notice something from that. My opinion is if you only stay on the computer all the day everyday, to try slowly to reduce the time in front of the screen and to try to make other helpful things that surround you all the time, but you can't see them because of the addiction. Try to do something different, it should not be something very special, just to do not be in front of a screen. Put some lines, put a target and follow it to the end, but don't overdo. I think that in the end you will can divide with your laptop, but it's not necessary to be forever. Good luck and do something on this subject, because it can become a bigger problem.

Thanks..12+ hour a day..

I open my laptop 7am and close it around 2 in the morning..lolz..

Its depends because I'm not now the holder of wifi in our house.
And they turn of the wifi when it reach about 11pm..lolz..
Sometimes I tried to connect using our neighbors wifi.
And stay online until 2am..lolz..

"yet before and after are not the same thing huh?..
Because you almost convince me with your comments only to make one last sentence that put all your comments in doubt..lolz..
Its like giving an instruction and after that you yourself is not sure if its okay or not..lolz.
But Anyway...Red or blue..I get what you mean.
