For me, I knew that a diet where I would be cutting things out of the list of foods that I eat would not work, so instead I've decided to go with a diet of moderation. I've not cut any foods out of my diet at all, I know that if I am craving something then I can eat it, I just can't go overboard with it. Along with this thought on my eating habits, I also exercise on a regular basis. This has helped me to lose about 40 pounds in the last year, not a ton of weight, but I find that it is easy to keep it off.

My advice is to not diet. Dieting is temporary and as soon as you go off the diet you gain it back. Try a program called You Forever Slim. It helps you to change your habits. It doesn't drill into your head about counting calories or points. It just makes small changes in your life over time. The weight doesn't come off quickly, but it's supposed to bring you to a natural, healthy weight for YOU, not what some chart says you're supposed to be.
I've been doing You Forever Slim for about two months. I've noticed more energy and just a general feeling of wellness. I've lost a few pounds, nothing major. I'm less concerned about the number on the scale and more focused on the way I look and feel.
