Rue played Blanche Devereaux and suffered a massive stroke. betty white is now the only survivor of the show since Estelle Getty died in 2008; Bea Arthur passed away in 2009. (thats a person a year! creepy)
i loved the golden girls and i know she had been doing a few projects acting wise but at least she lived to be 76.
did you expect betty white to be the sole survivor of this show or did you think some one else would have? and im soooo sick of this celebrity deathfest we have had for 2 years now!!

Hey moonlit! I just saw this when I turned on my computer! I
felt so bad! I loved Golden Girls! I don't think there are too
many people who didn't! It was a great cast! And it is true
about them all passing away just recently and I hadn't realized
it was in that order! I'm sure Betty White is a bit uncomfortable
right now! There have been an awful lot of celebrity deaths
already this year! Hope it isn't going to be like last year,
but it's adding up pretty quickly!

i know its getting bad.. im almost curious just to add up how many people we have lost the last couple of yeas because it just seems to be so many! betty white is getting a new show on tv land starting up in a few days and i hope she does well in it.. i miss seeing her and the show but they only seem to rerun the episodes i have seen 1,000 times grr

Betty White is enjoying her second shot at stardom. I think she has survived because she has kept working. How old is Betty White?

heck i cant remember but i know rue was the youngest and so i think it was either betty white or bea authoer (spelling?!?!) that was the oldest and i remember hearing her age the other day and forgot it now but it was even older than i had estimated.. so shes pretty far up there.. im glad shes working again.. she seems to be a lovely person

I just seen this on news today, regarding Rue McClanahan passing away.
This was actually sad to me, because when I was expecting my daughter this is the show that I watched, all of the time.
You know, there is only 1 of the Golden Girls left now; Betty White.

yep and i hope she does well with her new tv show.. but i have a feeling with as much as golden girls is still being replayed on tv that its not gonna go anywhere soon..

me either. i was saying up above that she was always more plumper than the other ones so i figured she would end up having more health problems.. not that she was fat but dorothy and sophia were bean poles.. but then again i think betty would look horrible if she was skinny like them.. her bone structure wouldnt work.. but yeah i never thought she would be the last one standing.. i thought it would be bea/dorothy
