When going on vacation, what are the ten or so materials that you must have with you to make your vacation a success. Books? Toys? Writing materials? Think of some things other than say clothes.

It is wonderful to think of things not just for yourself, but for your family (in the case of a child) to include. A money belt is important because there are often pick-pockets in different places. How is snorkeling? It seems so fascinating.

1. Camera - I scrapbook and love pictures. Its a great way to keep the wonderful memories for years. 2. Ipod - I love music and never go a day without listening to probably at least 5 hours of music. 3. Journal - pictures are nice, but we all forget things. So, I write down what I did and never worry about forgetting names or activities. 4. Folder - This is for things for my scrapbook - ticket stubs and stuff like that. Sometimes even flowers if I can bring them home and dry them out. 5. Watch - I hate being late to anything, so a watch is a must no matter where I am. 6. Phone - I dont call much when I am on vacation, but its a must have for emergencies. 7. Translator - especially if you know nothing of the language! 8. GPS - No longer need a tour guide - these things are amazing. Love my Garmin! 9. If traveling by plane especially, a book for the way there.

I always bring my notebooks and my pens, I am a writer and I often get new inspiration when I travel. I also like to keep a diary, and I enjoy writing about the things I see and do while I am on vacation. I like to bring some guidebooks, some phrasebooks/dictionaries, some novels and some magazines. I always plan my trips on my own so I need a good guidebook, and a phrasebook is also a great help if I going to another country. I like to take pictures and I always bring my camera and some extra batteries. My cell phone and my address book are also important.

When I go on vacation (which is typically at least once a year) I make a TO PACK list! That list always allows me to plan out ahead of time what I want to take on my trip. Of course I include the clothes I think that I will need. I also include reading materials (both books and magazines.) I often bring along my ipod to listen to music. My travels are usually to the beach so I always include beach towels and sunscreen on my list! I would say other than the obvious basics the one other thing I have to have with me is a book or two to keep me occupied!

When I go on vacation, I must have some writing materials; I love jouranling and writing ideas for future art projects and whatnot (because when I'm traveling I tend to et especially inspired). I also must have my makeup and toiletries, I always get paranoid that I'll forget my toothbrush when I go somewhere.
