Awww this reminds me of when i was in 2nd grade. I remember playing pirate with my friends. We would look for the mutinous traitor on our ship and make him/her walk the plank(slide). And if he/she refused then to the stocks(fence with pretty big holes).

Ho Ho Ho! Ye've brought back pleasant memories, matey! Pirates was one of the favorite games when my son was growing up. It was only topped by pretending we were treasure hunters. When my son was six or seven, we were attending a gem and mineral show, where there happened to be a booth for gold hunters. We actually joined a local chapter of the group, and for the next 10 years or so, our hobby became gold panning and treasure hunting. He actually has a small bottle of the gold that we panned in New England streams. After Jurassic Park came out, of course we became 'paleontologists' during a weekend camping trip. In searching through rocks in a riverbed, my son found one that was roughly the size of a football. It was a very dark stone, but it had whitish markings on it, that to us looked like it might be a fossil. After getting back home, we took it to the paleontology department at a local college, where we were lucky enough to meet the director...and it was a slow day. He took my son 'under his wing' and spent quite a bit of time with him. The stone that we'd brought in wasn't a fossil, but it was an andalusite crystal. They form at the base of volcanoes deep in the earth. The director estimate the age of the rock we had at approx. 400 million years old. Twenty years later, my son still has it. And he still goes gold panning when he gets a chance.

Hi Catdla, I tried responding to this and wrote a reallylong piece and also uploaded a pic and it said I had used words that violate couldn't see where but lost the lot in cyberspace. We go fossil hujnting too as live on the edge of the Jurrassic coast and we did manage to find an amazing ammonite3 which ismillions of years old, it was a photo of this I was trying to upload but will have to do without now. We hide sweets in our pirate treasure hunt but gold panning sounds fun but no where here for us to do. That crystal sounds awesome that your son found and pleased to hear that he still has a keen interest. Huggles. Ellie :D

Weird as when I first found it and done adiscussion about it it took me about five attempts as each time lost all I had written soit may be the picture that was causing probs. Huggles. Ellie :D

Never say never on the gold hunting. I found a website that might interest you, about that hobby where you live. http://www.detecting.org.uk/html/Back_Garden_Gold_Panning.html Would have loved to see your ammonite3 fossil. Sorry the picture wouldn't post.

Bless... I'll bet he really enjoyed that. I can't remember what I used to play with my kids, but I was housemother in a children's home for a few years, in Brighton. The kids loved to walk over to the big park... Wild Park... and we used to have roly-poly races down the hill, and play football. Of course, I got roped in! Quite enjoyed it in fact... until the day I wore my nice new, yellow jeans over there, and wore a hole in them, rolling down the hill. That was a sad day for me! lol Brightest Blessings my friend... hope you're well.

My little granddaughter is coming for a visit this afternoon....she love blowing up balloons and playing volleyball or kickball...in the house. So this takes care of any breakage problems. We also do some crafts? I should say ALOT of crafts....blowing bubbles too if the rain actually quits!

I have played from hopscotch to hide and seek with my daughter and it does bring back memories from childhood that’s for sure. She has a doll’s house that I keep spotlessly clean and I have found my passion for it is greater than hers! Children keep you young that’s for sure! The pirate thing sounds like good fun...

Oh dolls houses has bought back memories for me too, thank you for sharing. Huggles. Ellie :D

No children myself, but I can't remember any games with our parents. My partner used to play games with her son when he was small: and I think it's great that you are taking part!

That is sure cute. My mother was not very happy when we used our imaginations. I do not know why. I loved it when my son, and now my grandchildren imagine such things.

when i was young my cousins and i used to play being bioman. we used to do role-play and each one of use will assume a character. since there are 5 members in bioman, we choose the color represented by each of the members then we do role play and kicked and punched pillows...hahaha...
