with the recent oil spill in the gulf of mexico, the government is trying to do all it can to stop the flow of oil into the ocean. yes it is a disater of immeasurable propotions. but is the president right in stopping offshore drilling? millions of people are said to be dependent on the oil industry and a six month moratorium on offshore oil expedition will cause a lot of havoc to jobs, families and even entire regions economies. is the president justified in implementing this suspension.

The president is right to stop the chance of another oil spil at least until a way to fix it if it breaks again is found. We understand it may terrible affect the economy of the gulf coast and put millions losses to the economy. This is a war , the president should nationalize BP and threaten to seize their assets. Their attitude is wrong, their acting like they can save their companies image. All people know is they caused it and they better fix it we dont want to hear nothing else.

i have no problem with BP getting punished, my question is why should every other organization and individual who have their lives associated with the oil industry get punished. the ban is affecting not only BP who have billions to spare, but the common man who earn a living in the oil industry, surely there is a middle ground in all of this?
