hmmm...if he meets the qualifications, why not? giving the little boy a chance for fame. i suppose he won't be nominated if he doesn't make the cut. there might be something about this little guy to qualify. ;-)

It's funny to me and I grew up on BET, Soul Train, etc.
I got nothing against Bieber (though I'm much older than his audience) and BET hasn't been about positive images since around 1990-1995.
It reminds me of around 1985-1987 when George Michael won Best R&B Male and Freddie Jackson (two-hit R&B/pop wonder) complained to every media that would hear him out.
Thing is outside of the scandal and turmoil, George Michael can blow. Between him and Jay Kay from Jamiroquai, I'd be in blue-eyed soul heaven.
In short, Bieber being nominated is about nothing but getting the dollar bill by any means necessary, even if it means being "contradictory".
