Ok with the change of seasons being upon us all yet again - northern hemisphere into summer & the southern into winter, I thought I'd throw the question out there...which is your fave season & why?
I would have to say summer is my fave season...I was born in summer & that probably has something to do with it but I also love it because you don't have to rug up at all...Here in Australia, we are just at the beginning of winter & yes, here in Queensland, we get it fairly mild compared to other parts of the world but I just can't stand being cold & I find it annoying having to put on so many clothes on of a night time - at the moment, we are only getting down to 8-12C but for me, that's cold enough!!

Summer is too hot here in sough Texas. It is practically impossible to exist without the A/C, and who wants to stay indoors all the time? I prefer spring with the fresh green of the new leaves and the many pastel colored flowers. Fall is also a good season. It is actually the best planting season for this area, or so I've been told. We don't have the masses of brightly colored foliage that more northerly parts of the country, but as the temperatures cool, we can come out of our houses and enjoy the brightly colored fall flowers.

I have heard that in places like TX & AZ you can literally fry an egg on the sidewalk...in summer where I am, we get temps in the mid to late 30'sC (80-90F roughly) I wish we had more of a spring or fall here but it usually goes from summer straight to winter.

I like all the seasons because of the variety although summer can get brutally hot. I'd have to say my favorite season is spring. I love to hear the birds sing, the flowers bloom and the grass and trees turn into a healthy shade of green.
When spring is in the air, all the lovely things come back to life!!!

The rainbow lorikeets here in australia seem to be noisier in winter than any other time although they can be heard all year round lol.

I can understand liking the "inbetween" weather so to speak...unfortunately where I am, we don't really get much of that because we're in the tropics.

I also love spring and autumn. Spring because it heralds new life and spring flowers and colours are so vibrant. Some of my favourite flowers bloom in spring, so for me it's more about the imagery than the weather I guess. Autumn colours with the reds and golds are soothing to me and warming, although it's sad to see the leaves turning and falling, their last glorious colour of the year is truly special..

I was born in Houston, Texas. You'd think I'd be a sun lizard like everyone else here, but Winter...ahhh...I CRAVE winter here. It relieves the hideous triple-digit weather our Summers produce. Texas--except in a few places around the edges--pretty much has no Autumn or Spring. Only in the technical sense, anyway. It's like, blink&missit--There went Spring! What? The bluebonnets are already gone? Blink: Wow! Where did this cold front come from? It was still 113 yesterday, & it's only November! Freeze & bake...freeze & bake. That's Texas.
But in Winter, at least, I can bundle up & be fine. In Summer, however, I can strip to the skin, & then wish I could take my skin off, too, & still be sweating & miserable! Not for nothing has it been said that Texas is located 5 miles south of Hell...

The way you described Texas is pretty much how you would describe most parts of Australia!!

Actually, we do have quite a lot in common!
Anyway, I take it you're a lizard, eh, mate? Well, you'd certainly feel right at home here! Want to visit? I wish I could afford to visit Australia--in August!

My favorite season is Summer. I like the smell of the rain on a hot summer day. Also going to the beach and the feel of the sand between my toes. The tempatures do get a little high, but they is why we go take a dip in the pool. Happy MyLotting!

I can relate to your weather discussion as I am in the same climate as you are. It has been getting cold at night lately and the early mornings too. I always wake early and this time of year it is dark and cold, but waking at the same time 5 months ago, it would have been warm and sunny. I love the summer most, particularly late summer and early Autumn when the weather is usually at it's best.
I love the summer storms that we get here in QLD and the warm early mornings. I do enjoy the cooler weather of winter at first, but it does not take me long to start missing the warmth. I am much more comfortable wearing shorts and T-shirt and thongs than jeans, jumper and shoes. As I am a thin person I tend to feel the cold easily too and do not sweat all that much in Summer. I guess this is one of the reasons why I left the long cold winters of Melbourne to live here in the Sunshine State!
I also love getting down the beach for a swim or a kayak first thing in the morning in summer.

I'm with you rawbill!! It has been getting really cold of late huh?? I had to take hubby to work yesterday morning & just before 6am, it was still completely dark with no sign of the sun!! The thermometre near my house also said 11C!! that's warm compared to what it can get for us but still too cold for me. I can understand why you moved from Melbourne lol...it's even colder there than Sydney where I'm originally from...at least up here you have less of a chance of having all 4 seasons in 1 day lol.

Now that has got to suck!! It also reminds me of a funny story my mum told me years ago...before I had been thought of, my parents lived in Canberra for a while & my mum used to drop my dad off at work at the navy docks then go to work in Queenbeyan...anyway, 1 particular day on the way to dropping my dad off, they saw a guy skiiong down the footpath as the frost was REAL good that morning!!

Yeah, at least there is no such thing as a frost here. I used to hate the car being all iced over in the mornings and having to hose it down to see out of the windows.

I think I would pick Autumn as being my favourite. In the Summer, it gets too hot and I suffer from hayfever. In the Winter, it is too cold and we have to spend lots of money on heating the house. But in the Autumn, it's usually not too hot and not too cold, plus it is also my birthday in October!

I like winter season because in winter a lot of fun to do in the home because in winter ice are around the home and we are enjoying together with our family out the home enjoyment just like scatting and many other funny games but in this season we wear a lot of clothes in our body to save ourselves from the snowy air of the snow so i like winter season due all of this reason.

I like summer,but i love rainy season,minus the floods
The only problem during summer is the so much heat, that causes rashes to damage my skin, and also the allergies from sweating.
So,when it is raining...i feel some relief, and i also love the rain.
I love playing in the rain.
I love to get wet with rain waters.

I like summer too, but I like spring/fall just as well. The weather is ins trasional phase and its not too cold and not too warm. Its plesent and not as humid. In florida, humidity is a pain in the butt in my oppinion. Its what makes the heat so miserable.
