yesterday, i and my mom went to a supermarket to buy groceries. i really admire cashiers and baggers for their work. baggers have to move fast and have to be systematic in placing the products inside bags. and they stand all the time while working that's why i always try to be nice with them cause i know their work is hard.

hi mspitot, yeah being a cashier or a bagger is really a hard job. i have experienced working both of this at the same time. well, few years back i've always been a cashier. and the first time i worked as cashier,i've met so many baggers who really are fast and great when it comes to bagging,. as if they know how to bag those items, even they don't know the items being placed. i rally admire those.he was one of the best baggers i ever encountered.well,he was a hustler when it comes to bagging and i find it funny when other baggers don't know how to open a plastic bag. yeah it's hard when you are at the same time both cashier and bagger.well,i can say i have been used to the fact that sometimes i don't have a bagger and the supermarket is so big, lots of customers are in line.what i do is to punch the item then shoot it directly to bag so that there would be no double punching or all of the items are being bagged after the punch.i can say,it is a very tiring work and sometimes i just can't help to think but i just hope cashiers would also have above minimum wage because of it's hard work.

Hello mspitot, I worked as cashier at grocery store few years back and love it when I bagger especailly on Sundays and big Holidays shopping made things so much easier. Sometimes the items are heavy after a while your arms and wrist do get soar and my legs that first week were like on fire until they got use being on them like that. Thanks and have a great weekend Sincerely Unique16

It is a difficult job. You have to quickly bag items so that they will not be damaged in transport. But they don't stand there all the time, they also shelve items and unpack boxes in between!

oh yes, but i think it is still hard to stand for such a long time. i also call their skill an art because they have to bag goods in places that they will still look good and not damaged after bringing those goods out of the bag at home.

At the local grocery store I go to they refer to themselves as courtesy clerks and they are hopping. They are required to bag your groceries, carry them to the car and load them for you. That is a service that is not often found now a days. And that is the exact reason I use the grocery store I do. Old fashion customer service is the best.
