Wouldn't it be much better if newsreaders use docked iPads instead of laptops?

Well, the titles describe pretty much of the question. Newsreaders probably use laptops to read out the headlines and as a mode of backup in case they happen to forget their plot, but over the time, laptops have become quite outdated and today we enter the tablet era. So I was wondering, won't it be much cooler for a newsreader to have a docked iPad on his desk rather than a laptop. What do you guys think?

my lap top is not even 6 months old.... my last one I used for 4 years! I do NOT purchase technology as it comes, I wait until it is cheap! So for me to purchase an Ipad will most likely NEVER happen. Now say if someone were to just give me one, say someone like you, I would use it!

Right, Apple products never become cheap. They just discontinue it when it does.

I still like reading paper newspapers. Boy, am I out of date! But it will take awhile before the iPad is widespread. It's really expensive. I mean, it's cheaper than a laptop but to someone who already has a laptop that does everything the iPad does... it's an unnecessary expense. I don't support technology advancement for advancement's sake. We're far too dependent on technology as it is.

hi there. even with the advent of convenience and better technology, i still want my reading materials on paper. i still like real books, magazines and newspaper. i just love the smell of paper and the carbon on the ink. i may be traditional, but this was my first exposure. now am just quite worried about the younger generation since most is hooked on gadgets and technology. but it would be nice if i own that little tablet. i should start saving up for that. ;-)
