What you do during a black out (brown out)?

Long black outs occur anytime especially during a typhoon or any other natural calamities. During black out, how do you spend your time since there is no electricity to run your televisions, your PC, no charges for your cellphone's battery and all the gadget you have.
For me, I read books or sleep a lot. :D

me too, I prefer to sleep but it's not because of monsters, I just don't want to wait till the blackout is done. I wish that by the time I wake up, everything is up as well. :)

We go for a walk whenever there is a blackout...or if the invertor is working properly we just go to sleep, but first preference is always for walking or talking with my friends, i sometimes just love it when there is a blackout....i mean it gets so damn quiet during that time...

yes you're right, sometimes it's better to have blackout to give silence to the world.Blackout can help our world cure its sickness caused by man.

Oh I miss the hide and seek I have with my cousins during black out. We also try doing the spirit of the coins but we got scared and did not push through. :D

When you say blackout that means the entire place right? (city) and brown out means only a portion? Is that correct? Anyway, It's either I go to sleep or do something with my cellphone like texting, browsing the internet or playing games. Good thing I have this mobile solar charger it could charge my phone or Ipod even at night. In my location, power loss always happen and it's really sickening!

I'm not sure but I guess brown out is just use here in the Philippines while in other countries like the US, when you say brownout they don't know what it means, they call it blackout.

When i was younger, i thought losing electgricity was fascinating. When it stormed, I waited to see if the lights would go out. My mother would run for flashlights and candles. Now that i am older, losing electricity is not as much fun. Now I am the responsible parent. Now I run for flashlights and candles.

I don't miss out on much. Thank goodness for a car phone charger, I can charge my cell phone and get to the internet via my cell phone. As for tv no big loss there and if I really needed to see something on the tv we have a portable that hooks up to the car also.
But usually I don't have to worry about this becuase I live right next to the power sub station. So in order for them to get everyone else's power back on mine has to come on first. Or if it is going to be down for a few days we always have a generator that we can hook up for the bare essentials.

It depends what time of the day the brownout occurs. If it occurs during daylight I usually go outside the house and chat with my friends. If it occurs during night I sleep or sing a song but most of the time I sleep and if the electricity is not yet back when I wake up,I would just sleep again. And sometimes I eat especially if I'm alone in the house.

Like anybody else, I also make sure that all my electronic gadgets are fully charged when long black outs occur but just in case all my gadgets' batteries drain out before the power restores, I sing my favorite songs to entertain myself. :D
