Recent anime suggestions? Haven't watched anything new lately.

I was really into anime a few years ago, but as I got busy with life, anime sort of got pushed to the back-burner so to speak. I'd really love to know if I've been missing any good anime series' that came out in the last few years.
As for anime's that I've enjoyed... mostly every kind, girly anime is a plus, but not a necessity. I've liked all sorts or action, drama, mystery, magic...
So, do you have any suggestions for me? It can be a currently airing anime series, or one that's already finished. I don't mind. I'm just looking for something to get me back into anime, and since I've been out of it for so long, there's just too many series to figure out what is good.

My recent favorites are:
(shoujo a.k.a girly anime)
SKIP BEAT, which is about a girl who's out to take revenge on an actor she helped then, but betrayed her in return;
LOVELY COMPLEX, about the love story between a tall girl and short boy
SPECIAL A, a story about rivals that eventually fell in love with each other
YAMATO NADESHIKO, about a girl who looks like sadako that lives in a house with 4 handsome guys
CLANNAD, a harem(boy-flocked-by-girls category)
OURAN HIGH SCHOOL HOST CLUB, reverse-harem story about a girl that is mistaken for as a boy
Others are VAMPIRE KNIGHTS, KANON, KAICHOU WA MAID-SAMA, SHAKUGAN NO SHANA...ah, and many many more! enjoy watching!

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll add them to my list! I've already watched Yamato Nadeshiko and High School Host Club (In fact I have Host Club manga 1 - 13 at home!) and I liked them a lot, so I'll definitely have to check out your other suggestions :)

the best new one i have seen is of course naruto and full metal alchemist.
if you havent watched naruto then this one is for you.
have seen some of the magic themed animes and some of them are pushing the urban with magic world too far.
paradise kiss = anime that targets girl audiences
boys be = young love/ teenage love with a slight sense of humor.
fushigi yuugi alternate world anime
chobits = love with dolls lol

I've just finished season 1 of La Corda d' Oro. I think it's cute. It's about music. Classical music. I'm re-viewing Fruits Basket, but I think it's an old one. There's also this vampire anime, Blood Plus. Haven't watched all episodes but my friend has, and she's really into anime. Naruto, still my favorite, but still to watch Naruto Shippuden. Just some suggestions, if you haven't watched them already.

Well animes that I would suggest would be Sailor Moon(girly :)) which was and still is very popular everywhere, or my personal favorite Code Geass, then there are animes like Magical Pokaan which is a comedy fun to watch when bored, and/or maybe even Inuyasha, and also Full Metal Alchemist
