If you are able to travel abroad for a holiday do you choose a relaxing holiday or an adventurous one? Personally I am not adventurous and i prefer to relax by a pool, go for walks in the countryside and enjoy sceneries. I definitely would not ski, go for mountain climbing etc, but it all depends on one's character i think.

If I would be able to travel abroad I would like to choose an adventurous holiday. I want to do jet ski in snow mountains...do some bungee jumping or maybe climb some high mountains. I definitely prefer a holiday filled with activity because it's the only way to make me contented and satisfied. Maybe I can do some scuba diving if the destination is near the ocean or beach. I will love to see the oceans species and have a swimming match with them or probably see some friendly dolphins along the way. I think that would be heavenly.

I think I would like one or two days of adventure and activities, then a couple days of relaxation. :)

I like to have some adventure when I go on holiday. I enjoy a little amount of relation. My best holiday was in 2006 when I got a cheap flight to Cancun. On that fantastic holiday I visited Mexico, Belize and Guatemala. I spent a few days at Caye Caulker, a Caribbean Island. There I did lots of snorkeling and went on a boat trip that had conservation in mind. Then I went inland and stayed in a tree house. I adore staying in unusual accommodation. I went on an exciting cave adventure. Next I climbed Mayan ruins. I had the right amount of adventure and a little bit of relaxation. Last year I was pregnant with my baby daughter and I traveled with my disabled toddler son to South Africa. We explored Cape Town and the Garden Route. It was an excellent trip. We saw penguins at Boulder's Beach and went on a two and a half hour safari. In 2005 I visited the Maldives and on a tiny tropical island only relaxing activities are on offer like swimming, snorkeling, kayaking or watching the sunset. When I have that sort of situation I love the snorkeling but I crave some adventure. Going to the Seychelles in 2004 was a better trip because of the cycling and trekking. In 2001 and 2002 I visited New Zealand and climbed a mountain plus did some long distance walking.

If i holiday within the country i prefer a relaxing holiday. If i want to go abroad on my first visit i have to visit the sights and explore the place. But on subsequent visits i'd like to visit only places with scenic beauty and relax. If i was a lot younger i would have gone for adventure but as we tend to age i feel one tends to take holidays for relaxation and not adventure.

Both it depends on my mood. If I'm really burned out from work I love to relax but If i want to hang out with friends I prefer adventure trip. I really love water tubing, white water rafting and other extreme stuff because it gives me adrenalin rush which also relaxes me. This kind of stuff might be scary for some but for me I its enjoying it gives me energy. But sometimes I love to go to spa or the beach to chill and hang out with friends to catch up with recent happening in our lives.
