We eat salad for dinner at least 4 to 5 nights a week.No juice though!
My husband has been able to stop, using medication for diabetes and cholesterol. Not to mention weight loss and health benefits we feel as a whole. Our doctor recommended we change our diet adding less meat, processed foods ect. Raw foods being the best is what we chose and will never turn back. Two or Three nights a week ,I cook a meal but from scratch no junk added as a treat.Salads can get boring ,Yet fun with all the goodies you can enjoy putting on them.

In case of food I am the first to eat because I do hard work. No avoiding food at all and under any circumstances.
But would like to have juice and salads just to please my tongue which troubles me a lot for the taste they have. I take long time to consume either watching TV or some other entertainment program on the PC.

The weather is quite warm here lately and juices, fruits, raw vegetables and salads are really all we are hungry for. I think it makes us feel cooler. A full, hot meal will tend to not taste good, and make us too hot.

hi Jotomy you are giving me some ideas as I am stuck here in this tiresome retirement center and have no say so in what I m served
if I had some veggies in my room, a little good salad dressing
voila a salad and juice is easy to buy, that would sure help my
diabetes too.We get salads several times a week but the portions are small and always with t oo much starchy foods.

Personally I believe that I would be able to do a juice and salad as a food alternate but I must say that I would soon get tired of it. I would use this as a weight losing and healthy body mechanism. I would really have to do my research and know that there are a variety of substitutes (flavors)so that i would not fall off the 'diet' so quickly. I'm sure like many, I cannot eat too much of the same thing for too long! LOL

I don't skip meals by eating salad and drinking juice, even when I am trying to lose some weight. Salad usually eaten with main dish. Besides, I can't imagine nibbling vegetables alone Juice, well, nearly all the time. I don't drink soft drink, so I choose juice. Mostly orange juice.
