Toolbars - a solid way to make money?

Has anyone esle set up a toolbar of their own and encouraged friends to download it? Conduit tell me I can earn money by getting other people to download it and use it. It has a search function that pays coppers to you when people use it. Seems to me it might be a way to increase our incomes. You can put all sorts of apps on it which pay you a share of advert revenue. Any thoughts?

I have had that option on my blog for quite some time. I offered it to start with just because I hadn't seen any other earning blogs offer a toolbar. Clixsense also uses a conduit toolbar. They are very popular company.

Not really. I don't have hundreds of people doing it. But, it is an option that will remain on my blog. I am in this for the long haul...so even if only a few people do it each week, it will build over time

Do you get many users downloading it? Seems like a good idea to me, putting all blogging tools such as host, logo design, etc all on one easily accessible toolbar. I have lots of other ideas for toolbar uses

I think you are right. Long haul, slow burn, whichever analogy you choose. It's the only way

It does sound interesting but one thing like most is there is no way for chrome users to use it as chrome doesnt really have a toolbar area. Although the extensions would be an interesting way to earn.

I have never seen Chrome, being happy with Firefox, and not every site displays properly in that. Do you find that to be a problem with Chrome at all?

It really doesnt bother me that some sites dont work with chrome. It just shows me sometimes that those sites dont think about all the possible visitors and usually means I wont use them

It is a legitimate way of earning extra money but is not as wasy as it seems. The hard part is convincing other people to download your toolbar, and actually use the search function. With many individuals and organisations trying to get downloaders, it would be a tough job. If you already have a popular website it may be easier. One person resorted to lying on myLot. Do not do the same thing, and besst of luck if you want to try it.

Thanks for that. I have a local community site where I live and am thinking of doing a downloadable toolbar with takeaways, taxis, churches etc on it. Give them 3 months free then remove those who don't want to pay
