Well, I'm in the same boat you are. My daughter is 13 months old and I can't even remember the last time I bought anything for myself. :)

Well, parents around start of schooldays should make huge sacrifices as the children's school needs are to be given priority. It's like that. Even single people have difficulty shopping nowadays. It is not the end of the world when we can't shop.

I am currently single.I am happy that I still have budget for shopping.it helps that I shop at vintage and secondhand stores.it makes my head spin more than if I buy at malls.I love good, quality finds for dirt-cheap prices.

Can I say grrr too? Cause i also dont have any budget for shopping anymore. My husband and I will be traveling this week and we have to control our appetite in anything that we wanted to buy cause there's no budget for shopping things we like. I think we can still deal with it for now. lol

You can do it :) Good thing I'm single and I don't spend too much. So when there is a chance to shop and I really like the things in it, I have the budget to spend.
But of course there are times when I am really broke. I just stop myself from buying whatever unnecessary things. That way, I survive haha

I dun set aside any budgets for shopping as i'm not a shopping person.. lol =D I will only shop whenever i have things to buy, and i try not to buy things on impulse either.. hehe ^_^
However i do have this tendency to buy things which i really needed, use it for some time, after which throwing it aside, regardless of how much i paid for it.. lol =D
In your case, your children are top priority now, and those spendings are inevitable.. hehe

I can understand how it is when you have lots of things in mind to buy and when they are very important too and then you find that your budget does not allow this, I am at home these days and whenever I have to buy something I just make my mind turn around to avoid feeling frustration, It is really hard these days to find a job though.

Hi Carrine,
Don't worry you're not alone in this situation. There's a lot to settle to this month...enrollment, uniforms, school supplies, my sister's wedding and of course our monthly bills...this is temporary. it will pass and one of these days we will be enjoying extra amount or savings on top of all the expenses that we have.
I admire you for making it despite your being a single mom. i salute you for that!
