Making Wallpaper Envelopes

Have you ever made wallpaper envelopes? I used to make them and sell them. Before sweepstakes were offered online people used them to enter contests. They are also cute to mail your bills in. I got a regular #10 envelope and opened it up and drew out a pattern on a stiff piece of paper. I got the wallpaper out of sample books from Shewin Williams. When they were getting rid of books they would call me and I would pick them up. I would draw my template on them and cut them out. Then I glued all the seams with a glue stick. After I got a stack of about 25 I would put something heavy on the stack until they dried good. It was a great craft will very little expense.

I've made envelopes like that from other paper - colored and patterned, but not from wallpaper. I can imagine that you could make some really pretty envelopes like that!

That's really neat. I think I should try this. maybe with a smaller size for notes for my friends.

what a great idea, but I don't mail out bills or enter contests or those kinds of things

What a wonderful idea, you could then design some cards to go with those envelopes using the scraps, especially if there was a pattern like flowers or something. You could make note cards to match that could be used with the envelopes. That would be a great gift to give to an elderly relative. Maybe I should check out some of our paint stores and such around here, see if I can get my hands on some wall paper books. You are getting my creative juices flowing. Oh, no, think I am in trouble. LOL. Gotta love those paper crafts!
