Data Transfer - unicode tranferring
i recommend you to use LAN connection.. LAN connections can manage the data transfer speed of 10mbps.. unlike wiFI and Bluetooth connection that has small data transfer.. good luck..

All you need is a lan cable like the one from router to pc it's very cheap in local pc store. You just plug it in both laptops and it should work. But it's more complicated with more than 2 laptops. Hope it helps

the best way is LAN or WiFi rather than bluetooth. for file transfer the LAN is useful.for internet connections sharing LAN is more useful than wifi in slower connection otherwise wifi can be prefer.

A hard wired Local Area Network is the fastest system, but if they staying at a hostel then I suspect that using a LAN connection would be rather insecure. The secure method would bluetooth, which can easily support Internet Connection Sharing and would require a pin code to pair them.

Actually a router can solve this. When there is router, your laptops can connect to the internet easily because of the wireless internet connection. Today we use a software called FlashFXP, and I use this to transfer big files with my husband's computer and my laptop. So we don't have to use the portable hard disk to copy big files. It is much more convenient. I love China

The best method? Well depends. If you want it to be connected all the time use lan. If you want to connect for a small data transfer use USB,Bluetooth . Personally I use a EXternal HD And it acts the common medium. No problems with data management in laptop then!

i will exactly saying that lan is fast preferable for internet sharing. in this we can adjust band width and also less expansive and configure simply. but wifi and bluetooth are slow because they are short distanced only and also low bandwidth.so i prefer lan is the best for internet sharing.

The laptop with an internet connection, the Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) should be enable either manually or using Network Setup Wizard at the "Control Panel" then select Network Connections. or just follow over here http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics/networksetupwiz.htm

Hi the fastest way will be to use LAN, next fastest will be wifi. TO make LAN connection you may require to buy small 8 port switch. You terminate your ISP's connection in to the switch. from switch both of you can access internet using patch chord. This involve a small cost towards SWITCH and patch cords. If your MODEM have more than one LAN Port or one LAN and one USB port then you two can directly connect to modem using appropriate cable and no switch will be required. You can use wi-fi without requiring any additional hardware, provided your modem has wi-fi facility as well.
