Clipboard Hack Problem - Shocking news about CTRL+C Ctrl+C may be the most important work we do everyday. But it's not a very safe thing to do. Read on to know why. What happens when you press Ctrl+C while you are online. We do copy various data by Ctrl + C for pasting elsewhere. This copied data is stored in clipboard and is accessible from the net by a combination of java-scripts and ASP. This is called clipboard hack problem. Just try this: 1. Copy any text by Ctrl + C 2. Click the Link: http://www.sourcecodesworld.com/special/clipboard.asp 3. You will see the text you copied was accessed by this web page. Surprised! I know you are because i was also surprised to see it. Do not keep sensitive data (like passwords, credit card numbers, PIN etc.) in the clipboard while surfing the web. It is extremely easy to extract the text stored in the clipboard to steal your sensitive information. Forward this information to as many friends as you can, to save them from online frauds! It is true, text you last copied for pasting (copy & paste) can be stolen when you visit web sites using a combination of java-script and ASP (or PHP, or CGI) to write your possible sensitive data to a database on another server.

I think, yes. Why? because if the scripts, by default, are allowed to run, it will automatically bypass your firewall

thank you for the information, but i am happy to say that they can not use what i ctrl c every now and then, as i only use ctrl C when encoding documents that are meaningless in a way, mostly school papers works projects, i never used ctrl c to enter my password. i only use ctrl c to copy research materials that are already in the web.hehe

Even if you use on-screen key board the copied text can remain on clip board and can be hacked.
