What's your favorite things to do/ to eat, when it's raining?

hi jinjer! yay! i envy you for having rain in your place...here in our place still not much rain and still very hot and annoying weather! back to your topic, well when its raining i always want to sleep! haha and enjoy the cold environment and my bed. lol! and sometimes i like to just watch how the water falls on the ground and enjoy the sound of the rain. but sometimes too much of it is not good for me as well since there's still some parts of our roof that needs to be fixed. hehe and as to foods, i like soupy dishes as well, anything as long as its soupy and hot! but even if its not soupy i think i can still eat more when its raining, and another favorite is dried fish and coffee! haha

Of course, not only the rain would determine what I would do, but also the temperature outside. If it is cold outside, or even cool, say under 60 degrees and it is raining, then I like to cover up under the blankets in my bed. I like to pull out a good book and watch a movie. Normally, I don't rent or buy dvd's so the movie I am watching is on commercial television. Hence the book. I read the book on the commercials. I know it may sound a little strange that I involve myself in both a movie and a book, but it just works for me. LOL 8) Like you, I also have a favorite meal that I like to cook when it is cold and rainy outside like that. I have a vegetable soup that I make. It involves hamburger, browned in skillet first. Then I put it in a pot of tomatoe juice along with all kinds of vegetables. Since you are in the Philippines and I realize your vegetables might be a little different, I'll tell you the vegetables of my choice for this soup. The soup contains: carrots, potatoes, green beans, and corn. I also put a large can of stewed tomatoes in if I happen to have them in addition to the canned tomatoe juice. oh, yes.. that'sright its been raining and i think its just lovely to wake up in the cold and still feel you want more sleep. i ended up sleeping until 11am today because its not sunny... he he when its raining all i want to do, actually is to watch tv....not much on eating, just watching tv, being a bum and all hehe...

hi jinjer I am in the US in Ca. and when it rains I love hot beefstew with carrots and onions and green peppers and celery and of course some beef simmered so the beef just falls apart. also I love spaghetti with meatballs and hearty tomato sauce with garlic and basil and garlic too and ice cream for dessert. lol lol lol

Hi, jinjer168. Today it was raining here today too. I just was relaxing. I had fried some fish and it turned out very delicious too. I like to read a book or watch a great movie. It was raining here while the sun was shining. It was beautiful outside. I had some Jasmine rice about two weeks ago and it is very delicious. It was very fresh and firm. Enjoy the rest of your day!

I totally agree with you. Its really better to eat when its cold rather than when its too hot like last summer. I also love eating sinigang when its cold. I love sipping its hot and delicious soup. Really perfect for this cold weather.

I love the rain. Whenever it rains, it feels calm and cool. I prefer to spend rainy days alone though. I spend it on my bed, reading a good book and drinking hot chocofee (coffee with chocolate drink). I also like the rain because it makes me stay fresh. I also live in the Philippines, and I hate it when I sweat nonstop when it's sunny and hot.

That sounds like a great feast. I don't have a particular food to celebrate the rain but I like to stay in bed when it is raining. When I wake up to the sound of rain fall, it makes me feel so comfortable and I just want to snuggle with my blanket while watching the rain fall outside my window. Good thing the rain season is during winter where I have winter break and can stay in bed all day.

it's always been raining here in baguio,that i don't think i can still have a "favorite thing" (either to do or to eat) on rainy days. so rainy days are normal days for me here lately. and i do normal things and eat just what i usually eat, which is just about anything. but when the temperature gets really really cold, i'd like to have some hot soup for lunch or dinner (or even for breakfast i suppose) , and hot cocoa for drinks.

I prefer to eat something fried in oil, its good to eat and watch movie lookign outside raining. I just came down in lobby area for betetr connectivity and here on mylot. I enjoy eating and listening to my favorite songs. the ones I am listening now are my favorites.

Hello If it is raining and i am unable to go out, and if there is power and internet, i sit near computer, my wife fries 'pakoras', crunchy, i eat them wit tomoato sause and tamarind chutney, lol try this... Thanks for sharing. Welcome always. Cheers. Professor

The rain was nonstop when I walk up yesterday so I came back to bed and sleep again. I like the breeze of air, but I don't like the sound of rain, like it was force to get down from the sky. From time to time I was looking outside to see if it will cause flood, well we were all traumatized by high floods brought by Typhoon Ondoy! for sure you are too! . WEll foods that are perfect during rainy days, I like champorado, soup (maggi soup) and Payles noodles . And hot chocolate. But we don't have chocolate yesterday so I made some coffee with cream.

I love to sleep when it rains. I also love to eat chocolates or drink hot chocolate if its raining. Rain here in the city is different in my hometown. When it rains in my hometown, its cold and the weather is cooler. We dont have that in the city but at least, it rains sometimes.

i love it when it rains here but not too much i guess, not like ondoy-levels. i love the breeze, the gloomy-kind of atmosphere. in days like these i love curling up to read a book with my chips, salsa and ice-cold coke hehehe. but for really stormy days when it gets to be cold, then i love having bulalo soup for dinner. love the bone marrow hehehehe.

Hello kababayan! I am glad that the rain starts to pour. My kids are beginning to get sick with the hot weather. But now that it's raining I feel blessed and it really improved the condition of my kids. So much for that! hahaha. Now that it's a bit cold, I want to eat ginataang bilo-bilo, ginataang mais, and sinigang and nilaga! So delicious!

im always continue sleeping during my off day when it's raining..but sometimes thing just getting bored..because i cant go anywhere with my motorbike..just sitting at home..sleeping all the time or playing games or do the housework...when its raining all day long...things are really getting very boring...well sitting alone in my house no one gonna cook something for me....but i can have a nice and long bed time when its raining....

when it's rainy, i stick to my comfort foods...a lot of carbs! my favorites are brownies, chips, popcorn and creamy soup with croutons. my family and i exchange stories in the bedroom while munching on these goodies and oftentimes, my family gets started in the kitchen while baking brownies or popping corn and then we move to the bedroom where we all could be comfy.
