Does eating candy helps in relieving motion sickness?

I have experienced a number of cases of motion sickness. When I was younger, my mother would hand me a candy to relieve it. It worked everytime. Now, whenever I feel nauseous when travelling, I find myself asking everyone for a candy, even though I haven't read anywhere that it really works. Have you experienced the same? What do you do to relieve motion sickness?

well there is not medical definition. When a kids are sick on there motion and that time when anybody give them any candy then they become so happy. As candy is favorite for kids. They like it so much. And this way candy helps to relive emotion sickness.

I also thought of this - that my mom only gave me candies so I could take my mind off the motion sickness, but I think the candy also helps in getting rid of the sour and bitter taste on my tongue when I feel nauseous.

I tend to only get car sick if I'm stuck in the back seat on a long trip. Luckily now that I'm married it's usually just my husband and I in the car - so I get the front seat no matter what! If I am stuck in the back seat and start to feel car sick I typically close my eyes and try to either rest or go to sleep. I've never taken anything or tried candy for motion sickness. I guess it has never gotten bad enough that I've considered anything but trying to sleep through it!

Yes, I also noticed that I tend to get sick more in the back seat than when I'm seated on the front. I've read somewhere that looking out of the window helps, so the wide windshield is a big advantage. I've tried sleeping through the motion sickness, but wasn't successful. I couldn't go to sleep worrying over barfing inside the vehicle.

Hi, deedoneza. I think that you should try eating Preggie Pops. They really work! When I had morning sickness and I could not tolerate anything down, I would suck on these candies. They are called Preggie Pops and Preggie Drops. They are very delicious. They come in many flavors. It will help to ease with your morning sickness. You can buy them off of the Internet.

I heard that some of the sour candies help, but that is because of the salt/sodium.....

I've never tried sour candies before. My mom only gave me the sweet ones. Maybe I'll try this out.
