Shrek Forever After. Was it over the edge? (no spoilers, I promise)

Hi! Yesterday I have visited new Shrek movie in 3D and have quite a mixed feelings about this. I love this whole idea of ogres, love and their adventures, but in my opinion first two movies were enough for the series, third wasn't that good to y taste and I didn't hoped to get much from the fourth as well. However, everything turned out better than I thought. I had a lot of laughter and positive emotions, and 3D effects were gorgeous. And nevertheless the question remains: If there was no this movie, the story would be still complete, do you agree? What are your personal feelings about the forth part?
