I'm a sinner because I don't go to Church

Hey everyone, I'm catholic and I seldom go to church but I always pray to God and thank Him for everything and I never hurt anyone. My mother-in-law knew about this and kept on reminding me and my husband to go to church. Last week, she told us not to eat you-know the white round unleavened bread that symbolizes Jesus' body because we rarely go to church. Am I sinner now?

What faith you are doesn't matter. None of them are exactly what they should be. What is important about being a christian is your personal relationship with God. That relationship is within you and between you and God and going to church has nothing to do with it. I don't advise anyone to go to church. Too many of the churches are leading peoiple off out into left field so far they will never be able to get back to God. You keep your relationship with God strictly between you and Him. It is none of man's business.

No you are not a sinner! Sin is an invention of the church used to frighten and force people to comply with the will of the church. There is no such thing as sin, only choices of action which are yours alone to make. Your mother-in-law is an excellent example of someone using imagined sin as a way to control your actions and force you in to a behavior that she desires.

"Sin is merely missing the mark of what G-d deems you should do."
The problem with this is that someone has to determine what mark some god deems that you should do. That mark is almost always set by some religious authority as a way to influence adherence to a set of rules or in this case by the mother-in-law who wishes to force her view of what is correct and categorize behavior that is at variance with her wishes as a sin.

Of course you have sinned, we all have. Not going to church isn't what made you a sinner. I do think you should go to church, though. There is a blessing in meeting with like minded people. Why don't you read Hebrews 10:19-25. It addresses the assembling of ourselves.

lol. Everyone is a sinner, but you're not a sinner because you don't go to church. These so called churches are full of sinners. Don't listen to her, you should eat the unleavened bread that represents the body of the Christ.

No you are not a sinner! I don't go to church at all and I am not a sinner for during it! My dad would say otherwise like your mother-in-law does with you! I believe in God. I grew up Lutheran but still call myself a Christian. Don't let anyone tell you what to do! It is your chose to not go to church and if your mother-in-law can't handle it,that is her problem!
