Has anybody tried growing soya beans from seed? I was trying to buy some edamame recently but we don't have an oriental grocers nearby, so I thought I'd have a go at germinating some organic soy beans I had in the kitchen cupboard. This worked really well, and I now have several little plantlets around 8 inches high. I was just wondering what to expect - has anyone grown viable soya/edamame at home, around how long does it take, and what kind of cropping should I expect?

Thanks Besthope, I soaked the seeds and rinsed for a few days till they germinated, then potted up - now I have lovely green shoots - just not sure what to expect next!
