"What you don't know won't hurt you"... What do you think about that statement? Is it a bad thing to omit things if they would otherwise upset you?

"what you don't know won't hurt you" well if some one you know and they know something thats going hurt you they shouldn't tell you depending what friend you have

That doesn't work for me and I don't omit anything because I want to know all the truth than keep going being lied to. It's true that doesn't hurt but the truth has some value while the lie doesn't have any, I think.

For the short term "what you don't know won't hurt you" may be ok. But if start keeping secrets then you have to always remember what those secrets are and hope that they are never disclosed by anyone else. People say this when they are trying to protect the feelings of another only to have it come back and bite them in the behind later.

hmmm I think this really depends on the scenario... for example, if you want to take a personal day off of work and call out sick... chances are its probably not really hurting anyone that you are pretending to be sick, and no one really needs to know that you are pretending. But on the other hand, I would not say this is true for more serious situations and it is much better to be honest... or just not put yourself in a situation where you would be saying "what they dont know wont hurt them" in the first place.

it's preety much true but when the person you're keeping it from finds out it hurts more than if you tell them straigt out and it comes from you rather than someone else. Karma will get you if you don't make it rigt.
