When Boys Cry

I have recently been crying a lot and I even had a break down, as in I cried my eyes out for a few minutes. Both men and boys are taught by society that they must be strong, dominant, and cut throat and there is little to no room for weaknesses if they want to survive in this world. Women cry more than men, because they are simply more emotional than men, do their having more estrogen. Women accept it but some guys are embarrassed if they cry because societal norms taught them that crying is not okay. I personally don't like crying and I only cry when I have extreme emotions that I cannot control. I just want to be strong and not be hurt, which is why I seldom cry and when I do something is really wrong.

boys cry because sometimes girls hurt their feelings. then of course the boy wouldn't want the girl to see, because then they'll make the boy cry some more..

I don't want other people to see ME cry either.

men started teaching little boys not to cry. this just caught on with the mothers and elder siblings telling little boys not to cry. little boys grow up to be men and it is always the sturdy men's shoulders women lean their head to cry on. they are the pillars of one's family and the one who should remain sturdy. this is the real reason why boys or men suppress their feelings. they just know they shouldn't cry. they just don't know why.

I used to be silent. Being a man is being strong, emotionally. There is nothing wrong if a man cries BUT not to weep. I respect the personalities of guys who cry in front of anyone but for me, if he can control his sadness, that's more of being a man. Being a man means you have to be strong and dependable. It might be little bit confusing for girls to think about it, but CRYING for men is different. When men cry, you have to watch out. They become harsh, more impulsive and then forget about it.

and why do you want to see us crying. I prefer being happy that sad and crying

Hi sophiaraine: I agree with you, there's nothing bad on crying and this doesn't make a man less masculine. I think it's positive to express our feelings including a very emotional way like crying but people are educated in a very "macho" style that is simply wrong. So I think it's all in our education. i cry as weel i cryd when my girlfriend almost dumpt me for lieng to hear i felt so bad and cryd becouse of my stupid thing , i regretet so much that i lied to hear and i promist hear i woul never lie to hear again she started to cry when she saw me crying ;)) at the end every thing was fine :)

About why boys dont cry I think its because of fear of being ridiculed as a gay or a child. Besides this, girls appear to avoid those thin hearted guys. To hate boys that do not cry would be like hating your hair because it grow slowly. Why does no one get it that boys only cry when there's enough emotion. On the other hand, girls who lack control over their emotions would just be as frustrating to boys. So no one should be a hypocrite since every flaw is not always intended.

i dont cry public since i dont resolve problems publicly especially love matters.. if something is wrong with me and my girl, we talk it over inside a room, then there i am free to cry.. ahhahahahahahaha

There is a book that I have read saying "Men or boys are prone on heart failure because they keep their feelings" Mostly men do not show their grief, their sorrow and keep not to cry to show that they are tough guy. It is alright for me for the boys to express his emotion by crying as long as it is not a crybaby. I easily cry when I see people on slum are, when I see street children because I do pity and have passion on them but it does not mean that I am weak. Sometimes we could not control our emotion that is why we cry and only humans will cry.

as a man ,for crying generally has a few circumstances as follows :his meeting a very great problem can not solve by himself ;he is really very sad .

I think when a guys cries its just mean that they have a heart too.They just cant cry as often as we do (girls).I think when a guy cries its just mean that its a special reason and the person made them cry really hurt them or really made them happy that they cant control their feelings.I always find crying guys being honest,guys has a big pride and they always want people that they are brave so when they cry they just showing that theres still a soft part of them.Their cries are Not always seen but specially given to someone.

As I'm not a boy I can't necessarily speak for the male population. But having a younger brother, a mother and a father, I can see that alot of behavior is copied from our parents. This is especially so from a son/father perspective. The father teaches the son how it is correct to act in this world. He represents society to the budding male and therefore he is proud when the son acts accordingly. Which means that if the father is less likely to show his feelings and emotions, i.e. crying, in front of others then there stands a good chance the son will do the same as well. My beliefs on crying are simple. For alot of people, including myself, crying is a private thing but sometimes we just cannot hold it in. Therefore I feel both men and women should cry in order to begin the healing process. There is a limit to this, an invisible line per se, where someone becomes weepy and alot of times sympathy towards these types begins to wane. But the occasional cry is not frowned upon when necessary. The last piece of my viewings is that this corrolates not only to men but to females as well. I, myself, am less likely to cry in front of others due to the influence of my father who isn't an emotional being. Also, my brother tends to not be as emotional as well. But due to my mother, my brother and I know when there's an appropriate time that we JUST need to cry. So thanks mom and dad. :D Hopefully this is helpful to someone out there. Thanks for reading.

When a man can cry in front of others that shows me he has a heart and is not afraid to show his true feelings. When a man does not cry I find them usually cold and not real. I will take a guy who will cry over a tough guy anytime. Tough guys usually don't have any type of substance to themselves. They are just cold and aloof.

I think guys feel like crying shows they are weak. I don't agree, but I think that's their thought process. I don't think there is anything wrong with a guy crying either. I mean, within reason. I wouldn't appreciate crying at every little thing, but when something happens that would call for tears, I don't see why they hold it in.

Someone could cry depending on the level of sensitive or not his heart. I think men or women alike. If his heart easily touched, then he will express it by crying. I am one of the sensitive-hearted man, so I easily cry. I'll cry when I lost someone I love or I feel dumped by a woman I loved. But that to me is a normal thing and it can happen to anyone.

some boys don't want other people to see them cry,but the others not.depends on their character.i think the reason of tough guy crying is that he can't control his amassed emotions.although crying is better for releasing stress,i still want to cry before the people.when i'v grown up,this stiation happend four times only,all sad things.

if you a man crying, it does't mean that the guy is not really a man. it's just that he has a big problem that he can't solve by all himself. we hide to cry because we does't want people who loves us to feel sad for us because we know that we can solve this alone. we only turn to God to help us and guide what are the right move to solve that problem. crying is our way to express our feeling that we hide to them because if not, we can't help ourselves to solve it.
