Virus can be deleted easily without doing a reformat....

Here is some hint on how to delete your virus manually... in your C: directory where your windows is installed you can't find any autorun file and any executable files... only your system files like program files, windows folder, files with file extension .sys and .BAT... when you installed some other program it may have downloads and other folder... when you found files other than what i mentioned then that file might be one of the virus... Note all virus are hidden files you can only see it by using winrar or downlaod an rrt program which help you show the hidden files... then when you find some files which is not a system files together with the autorun then that will be the virus... disable the process of that file using process explorer, and then go to msconfig and disable it from the startup... then go to registry search for its string, then delete all the string of that virus in your registry, then delete the main program which is commonly found in system32 folder...
