I applied in for an On-the-job training in Singapore and soon the interview would be held soon although the date wasn't set yet. What were the usual things being asked in an interview? I never did applied for a job and It will be my first time ever to go to other country and to work.

Hi eilnoz Well when I first attended the interview I was really very nervous and I was worried what questions would the employer ask me, he asked me very simple questions about my educational qualifications, salary expected, about work experience and so on and I was selected for the job but it is not necessary that the same questions will be asked every where, after working 4 years there I attended an interview but then I was not frightened but I was confident to answer what ever they ask me I felt nothing to get nervous and answer every question that was asked to me and if I succeed I will get the job if not it would be an experience for me to attend another interview ofcourse I got the job once again. On the whole I can say one thing that you have to be confident about you, and need not fear for anything and answer the questions confidently seeing your confidence you will be selected for the job, remember one thing your nervourness should not be shown on your face. Wish you good luck for your interview.

Hi eilnoz No I did not practice either for my facial expression or tried answering questions myself because in that moment I have no idea about interviews and there was no one to guide me about interviews, just I prayed to god to help me to make the interview well. Ofcourse I was very nervous before going to the interview but when I attended the interview the questions they asked were very simple and I answered them without fear and I was not at all nervous while answering the questions. I would suggest you just forget everything and don't feel nervous and prepare yourself that you are going to speak to a friend and that type of thinking may keep you away from being nervous and be casual and confident while answering the questions and you will see that success is in your hand and believe that god is with you and I wish you all success in future. Have a nice day.

interviews differ according to what you're interviewed for. as for me, i never conduct my interviews in the same way often.. one word of advice is: be calm, be relaxed. the person who's going to be talking to you isn't going to eat you up or anything. and they're not there to give you a hard time. they just want to see if you can be a potential employee within their company. so show them how you truly are, and respond to their inquiries properly as how you would answer them

Congrats.. That's the first step towards attaining a job. I think first of all, you should be confident and that you should know your craft and when ask you should be able to explain well. Review your resume thoroughly and understand your previous job, if this is your first job or your first in this line of job then you should know what it's all about.

I'm not quite sure what job will be given to us since the one who would interview us is from an agency and not really the company who would hire us. Thanks for responding!

The most frequent questions during interview are what are your strengths and weakness? Are you willing to lend extra time? What salary rate do you prefer? Why we are going to hire you? What is in yourself?

Yes I have tried being interviewed for a job. I don't feel scared but I feel a little bit nervous. Of course that very day was a special day for me for if I passed the interview I can have a job. I entered the interviewers office with a smile and courteously. I put it on my mind that I will never be intimidated. I just relaxed and talked to myself saying I can do it. I passed the examination and I don't know if I passed the interview because I was not able to get that job. However, that was only my first interview and it help me much to have a self confidence.

I have over nine years experience working from a different sectors overseas and so i'd like to tell you that almost all of the initial interviews that i faced was "Tell me about yourself".... so just be careful to not run-off words from your mouth..cover at least 4 topics or more.. you may say something about your early years, education, and since it is your first time interview ever, you may add things from your skills and interests...you may also mention your ability to set priorities, and you may say about your desire to perform and be recognized for your contributions... just make all your statement oriented towards opportunity.. Goodluck...

That was mostly the thing being questioned as what others told me. I would love to talk things about myself and I really do hope I won't run out of words because I usually does. lol. Thanks for responding kumar!

Usually, the employer would asked what can you contribute to the company and probably asked you to state your expectations. Some employers asked applicants if what skills or abilities can they share to the company.

Oh I see, So that might be one question that the HRD officer of a company would ask me. how about some possible questions that an agency would ask? I'm for the first round yet. It will determine if I will be going to Singapore or not
