Ok, here goes. Hy hubby just got in a wreck earlier. It was a rear ender. There was no damage to car nor the truck. The lady in front of him let off brakes and started to pull out on to the road off the on ramp. Then my hubby starts to look so he can go. Well as he starts to let off brakes and go. She slams on brakes and he bumps her. He said his odometer was not even at 1mph yet. She calls the 911 and tells them that she has been hit and needs a ambulance because she is hurt. Take note this women is a registered nurse for the local hospital. So do you think this women is just trying to get money or what. My hubby said the whole time she was moving around in the car before the police and ambulance got there. So my question is what is your opinion on this? Has this ever happen to you? If so what did you do? Have a great day!!

Yes, it did happen with me once. I was waiting in my car to take it for car wash. The car was not on the road. Just then one motorcyclist passed by at a high speed. He came from behind and the leg guard of his motorcycle brushed against the front mudguard of my car. Since he was going at a great speed, he fell down and he together with motor cycle was dragged several feet. Due to fall, his motorcycle was damaged and he too sustained minor injuries. It was his fault but he blamed me. The crowd gathered there too favored the motorcyclist because he grimaced. Moreover, public is always biased against car owners. I had shell out money not only for his treatment but also towards the repairs of his motor bike. I avoided police interference because they too, as corrupt they are, would have seen an opportunity to make money.

Uhmmm…Sounds suspicious! I had a similar incident happen to me many years ago. I tapped and I mean ‘tapped’ the back of another car while waiting at the traffic lights. It was a very light tap and there was not even a scratch on either vehicle. We didn’t bother exchanging details because there was no damage; I apologised and we were on our way. The following week I received a letter from the Police Department asking me to fill our some paperwork accepting liability for the ‘accident’ because the woman from the other vehicle took down my registration number, reported the accident claiming that she badly hurt her neck when the impact occurred. I was shocked…The was no hitting just tapping…Anyway I filled out the paperwork and fortunately I was not charged or sued. Some people are just opportunists…Hope it sorts itself out smoothly for your husband...

I hate when people do this! Some people think that being hit from behind is a guaranteed big payday from the insurance company but that isn't true. If there was no damage to the car or the truck then there's no way that lady was seriously hurt. It's probably a good thing that she called 911 because now there is a report. Your insurance company is not going to give this woman a bag full of money just because she was hit from behind. They will cover her medical expenses but she's going to have to prove that she was injured and even if she is a registered nurse, someone would have to falsify records for her to be able to fake it.
