I received 4 emails today starting with : Your PayPal account has been limited ! These emails are fake! They don't start with my names, but with a "Dear PayPal member"! PayPal will send you email starting only with your name! They want to click on one link, but It will lead to to some dangerous place. Don't click on it! Here are screenshots from my email: http://img715.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=paypalfake2.jpg

This is a common practice and I have received emails claiming to be from Paypal and from various banks. Most people who have used email accounts for a while have encountered such scams, but the people sending such things obviously depend on new email users to fall prey to their tricks.

Yeah it looks familiar. However I deleted the message. Without your name at the start of the message is clear indicater that it is a fake. Obviously who sent the email has no idea what your name is and paypal should know your name. Must be after personal information to gain access to your funds that'll be a guess.

now that they've got their phone number on the webpage i'd rather ring them and talk to one of the representatives rather than reply to emails.

if they ask to singin to our account and make changes specially if they ask for password and personal information then forget about the link they gave but instead open another browser and type paypal there and make any changes directly to paypal site and not from any link given through email.

Thanks for the heads up. There seems to be a lot of scams out there on the Internet these days. This is just the latest of many it seems. Some people I guess have nothing better to do with there time than just cause harm to people or worse, try to swindle them out of money. There is always some scam going on with the Internet. People get some joy out of passing themselves off as someone that they are not, I guess. I am sure if I looked in my spam folder, there could be lots of things that are scams or attempts to misdirect me to harmful websites. The Internet can be fun but there are a lot of people who try and ruin the experience for us. Be very careful when dealing with something like this. Still, once again, thanks for the head's up, its nice to be watching for something like this.

I actually got a few of those emails even before I get a lot of fake and junk emails. It's really annoying. I hate deleting them. It's such a pain to go into my email and see those types of emails.
