I put on 2 stone over three months when I started a new medication.
I am only a few pounds lighter now and REALLY need some ADVICE!! I have had two sessions of hypnotherapy for weight loss and that has slightly helped but what else could I do?
Currently I exercise a few times a week, but I am trying to increase this. I eat okay(ish) but there is room for improvement.
All my weight goes to my stomach which I find rather upsetting! I am about a size 14 and want to be a size 8/10.
Can't wait for your replies!! Thanks.

Here are some little things that will help
-drink some green tea and/or ginger tea
-take cool to cold showers
-don't eat any grains, you can get your natural carbs from fruits and vegetables
-don't eat any milk products, or drink milk
-Only eat food that is unprocessed, not from a box
Those are some tips to go along with diet and exercise, just some little things that can add up to a lot.

Wow thankyou that is all advice I haven't really heard before. Awesome =)
I have green tea in so will definitely do that. Is there an optimum amount of green tea to drink for maximum weight loss?
I will struggle with the grains, but will cut down on it.
The same with milk products.
Thanks.

If you can't do away with milk, at least try to get rid of the grains, they are the greater evil of the two, aha. I drink me around 1 liter of green tea usually each day, sometimes even as far as 2-3 liters, but I drink it because I really like the taste as well, not just for weight loss, plus for the anti-oxidants :). It is best to drink it before you exercise, as it has been proven to boost the metabolism even more that way :D.
Good luck, I recently put on some weight and now have to shed it too :|

If you try to lose weigth to fast you will just end up gaining it back in the long run..trust me Ive been there. I had anorexia most my teen life and starved myself...when I got better i gained all my weigth back plus some. You have to go ona proper life style change that you will stick to forever. Just eat healthy and exercise and it will work.

I agree with you guys I've been there, when I was 15 years old I lost a lot of weight very fast but the difficult part is how to maintain your weight, because of that I became bulimic just to maintain the weight (teenagers have a lot of insecurities lol). But when I got married and got pregnant I tried to overcome my eating disorder for the baby's sake and because of that I gained a lot weight. But after I gave birth, exactly 2 mos after I decided to change my lifestyle. I decided to exercise and to start eating right. Now I'm into hip hop abs by Shaun T and trying to reduce my carbs intake, more fruits and vegetables and lean meat. It's all about lifestyle change, it's not one time diet and exercise thing. It's not a quick fix that you do just to fit in the dress that you want to wear, it's a life long commitment to be healthy...

Short term weight loss programs worked for me for a few months, then I gain back more. For me the problem is that I am not eating and exercising properly. Once I learn how to correctly do both.
The last major adjustment I did was avoiding sugar AND artificial sweeteners. Before that I had gotten into the habit of eating more vegetables. Well and good, but it is all naught if I don't accelerate my exercising. It takes a lifestyle change to permanently lose weight, not a temporary deprivation.

You should start working out a little if you really want to burn some fat. I don't recommend you to sign up for a gym, you can get fit at home as well. First of all you should start doing some cardio ... like running. Running is the one best thing that's going to get you look better. You should watch your nutrition ... try eating lots of fruits and vegetables. Junk food will not do any good. Drink at least 2l of water a day. That's about all you have to do if you want to lose weight.
Ohh and here is a tip I found out from a girl from my dance class ... when you are about to make physical effort use a roll of transparent plastic to cover your stomach and your lower back, it will really make you sweat.
I hope you will reach you goal.
Take care !

I know you said that eating is something you'd like to improve. What if you kept a food log to help you see how much you're eating each day? That may help you tweak some things and make changes too! I notice that when I'm writing down what I'm eating that it really helps. Your added exercise is certainly going to help too!! Good luck with your weight loss :-)

The first step is..
STOP eating any form of carbohydrates - rice, noodles etc. Do not just go running, go to the gym and do weights. I drink protein shakes to keep myself full as well. Eat everything in small amount, and all low-fat like vegetables, fruits etc.

...Hi leighann, Welcome to the ranch enjoy yourself. You won't like this answer, but if you lose weight fast it will return just as fast, and you will gain more weight than you lost, because you will have increased your fat cells. Research it you need to. You must have patience and do it slowly. Start eating multiple small meals a day. Chew your food to the consistency of baby food. It improves digestion and will help to lose weight. Drink water until you are drinking eight glasses a day. Take a potassium pill every now and then to maintauin your chemical balance. Do situps to take the inches off the middle. Buy a jump rope and use it. Cut out the white bread, sugar and reduce the salt intake. All these things are suggestions which will help you get to where you want to be. Don't do it fast because it won't last. Seriously. Take care.

Yoga meditation and excercises are the keys for losing weight. Eat as much you like but you should know how to digest them.
A few kilometers frisk walk or run in early morning or late evening, till you start sweating, would help you a lot. However, caution is required. Such excercises should be gradual or it would affect your heart adversely.
We don't rquire medication for bringing down our weight. Such practice could also have side effects which would affect other organs of our body badly.
Wight loss should always be natural.

The idea of weight loss is calorie in verses calorie out.I can say this coz i also went thru the same problem. What i suggest is have breakfast like a king, have lunch like a beggar and share your dinner with others. It means a healthy breakfast is the most essential. When i say healthy it means more of protein and less of fats and carbohydrates.Soy protein is very good for health and whey protein as well.Animal protein is not that essential. In weight loss one should eat but healthy dont starve yourself.More vegetables, fruits with less calorie and high fibre like cucumber, brown bread, salads, pulses.Less of cheese,butter,ice-cream,choclate.Per 20 kg of your body weight you should have one litre of water.Along with healthy diet exercise is must.
