What chores or responsibilties do you have at home?

As a mother of three, I can certainly tell you that I have a ton of responsibilities. My 14 year old does most of the chores except for dish washing and my own laundry. I wash the dishes and wash my and my husband's laundry. Other than that, I've been looking for a job, preferably the 3rd shift, and trying to get my daughter into pre-school. Then, I'm looking for a new place to live, and trying to go back to school, but I have to find a way to pay off an old loan that I have on default. I make all the doctor's appointments for my kids and I, and I keep my kids in check and looking clean. I know it sounds like I'm super mom ------ but I'm far from it. I just do whatever I can do for my family and try to make the best of it, despite my inner struggles.............................................=(

we are 5 children in our family and we dont have chores when we are younger. so you can imagine how messy our house was. i have my own room and that room i maintain it clean and neat. that is my serenity. no one can get inside there. when i am at school i keep it locked. the dishes are all pilled up it was a sad scene. but now that i am married for 7 years i found the best home that fits me. my wife is a clean person and the rule in the house is clean as you go. we also teach this to our 4 years old son. to keep his toys and his things. when i am at home i ran errands for my wife. set the table and clean the dishes and put out the trash. thats my chore. i also clean our bedroom, i am the one who change our beddings and clean the room but my wife is the one changes the curtain. the cleaner your home the lessen the chores are.

There are lots to do for me each day especially after work. I work with early shift that will start at 5:00AM. After I work sometimes my husband will set off for an errand. But if not need to go home and do the cleaning. Our flat is very small that fits for a new couple. But even everyday you will do the cleaning still everyday the dust is widely present. I clean the floor, bathroom, cook for dinner, tidy our room and preparing all stuff for tomorrow shift.

Most of the times i take care of fixing lots of stuff around the house, may it be a leak in the roof or any broken parts of the house im the one taking care of everything. But there are times as well that i do the laundry and other stuff as well. Yes pretty tough but i can manage , maybe because i got used to the idea of cleaning and doing all sorts of stuff thats why but hey what matters the most is that these kinds of stuff are done. And if i will have my family of my own sometime soon im planning on teaching them the same values so that they will understand and learn how to value duties and responsibilities as well .

I have 2 boys at home, and my chores are just everyday things like laundry, cooking, cleaning, and running the older one to and from school. It doesn't sound like a lot to most people, but it is and as a mother yourself, you know exactly what I mean, my kids are 9 and 15 months... my 9 year old does help out with somethings, which is great now, especially with my little one running around the place and making a mess.

Prepare food and bathe my grandma, wash the dishes, cook (sometimes). Actually, I prefer baking, but I learn how to cook simple food from my brother-in-law, who is a graduate of Hotel School. I am single, but my sister, who is married with one son, lives with us. I also still have grandma, who is 87 years old. We all are now focusing on her, that`s why sometimes my aunt stays here for 2-3 days.

I dont have kids yet so I still dont have to take care of some kids. But I was thinking that if I am going to have kids in the future, there are going to be more chores for me. Now that there's still me and my husband, I just washes the dishes, clean the house, prepare meals and other things but most of the time my husband helps me. I think I am lucky that he helps me since not all husbands are like that.

That would be a superb mom of you. I can see you as a super mom or the wonder mom. I guess most of the mother will do the same thing what you are doing. I am single mother and I have 1 son only. We dont have much chores responsibilities at home. As long as I managed to cook and prepare food. I will let my son ready the table by preparing the table. Then wash dishes I'll do it because he is still young and he might break our plates and glasses. For laundry I do it every week end and my son is cleaning every week end as well.

I understand. My mother cleans the house on Saturdays. It's a lot of hard work. I was so tired after doing half the house. I'm nineteen right now and go to college, but I wash my clothes weekly, empty the dishwasher, set the table and take the dog out. Of course I'm expected to that kind of stuff because I'm considered an adult. I also keep my bedroom tidy and clean the bathroom I share with my sister as well. I can't say I don't complain sometimes though.

as an eldest in my brothers and sisters, i'm the one who always clean our house. buy foods in the market and manage the budget that we spend because our parents are in the other country so i must be responsibility to my brothers and sister. i am the one who guide them in the right directions in life right now, I've done cleaning the house and feeding our pets like dogs and fish. playing with my pets while feeding them is my favorite chores to do because i can relieve my stress when i see and play with them.

I have to do one of the following each day: clean the kitchen / tidy the living room / tidy the corridor and bathroom. Each month I get £20 allowance for this. I have the responsibility to pay £20 a week rent to my parents, which is difficult at the moment because I am skint! I also help feeding the cat and walking the dog.

I am the eldest daughter so I am responsible for cooking, cleaning, laundry, dishes - in other word, everything. I also send and fetch my younger brother from his school. It's not like I'll do it alone, I'll divide some of the chores and almost everyone need to do something. It's help when you're the eldest as they need to listen or else.

In my holidays at home, I help my mother with cooking, besides I should look after myself. As son, what I can do is little. I'm learning cooking so that I can cook myself, then my mother's work will be reduced.
