Are you a morning person or an evening person?

I am definitely a morning person. I wake up around 5 am. What do I do? I browse the internet and my lot. I love it when I see the sun rises in the morning, holding my cup of coffee.
I used to like evening before because it means bedtime. But I realize, what is good about bedtime? I just sleep and do nothing. I don't have anything accomplished when asleep.
Aside from this, morning signifies new beginnings and renewed energy. Whatever mistakes I have done the previous day, it has been erased in the morning giving me the inspiration to try once more.

I never said it was easy. Not easy being day person when you were nite person the day before. Or not easy being day person the same day your being a nite person. Its just that i love getting up early and i love going to bed late. Preferably not all in the same day.

I thought I was the only early bird catching the worm. I too am like a human alarm clock, my body knows it is time to get up at the same time everyday. Since no one but me is up at the early hours I do the same surf the net and catchup on emails so that the rest of the day I can venture outdoors and or continue on my surfing. I am feel that while sleeping nothing gets accomplished, however my body has a tendency to realize that it must rejuvenate as the next day is yet another repetitive battle. Have a great day, it is sunny in Chi-Town!

Oh yes, when we sleep we accomplish nothing. My son and I has the same body clock. We wake up early even if we stay up late sometimes. He is just 2.5 years old.

Wow amazing for a 2 year old. Hopefully he is not irritable during the day and hopefully he takes a nap.

I see. Is it okay to ask what do you do during those times that you are awake?

Hi aileen! I am definitely not a morning person! Unless, you
mean up until 5:00am!lol I have chronic Insomnia and have a
really hard time getting to sleep. No matter how hard I try
to tire myself out during the day it never seems to exhaust me
enough to sleep and I end up staying up all night! I might
sleep for a few hours during the day, but sometimes not even
then!

I know some people who are also insomiac. I pity them coz, they still have to go to work in the day. They should change job and work for a call center, if their body clock is like that.

I've never been a morning person. In fact, the most enjoyable job I've had was from 10 pm to 7 am. That was just my cup of tea. However, 50 years later, I'm having problem with hands that just don't want to work and have found that they usually work better in the morning. My hands work early in the morning, but my brain doesn't. I can't win for losing.

I guess that is the ball of life. We really can't be the same like we used to be when we were young.

Yeah i am also definitely a morning person only..I use to wakeup in the morning 4..My daily habit is to go for jogging...I have very good partnets for doing jogging.we use to chat and we will do jogging..at that time air will be fresh..So that we can breath fresh air so that we can be healthy..And also during morning time atmosphere will be calm so that there will be no disturbances..And also i use to study in the morning times only..At that time our mind will be more active..So that our grasping power will be good at that time..SO that i used to study at that time only..We can study more in ashort time in the morning time..Happy mylotting..have a nice day..keep smiling..

I agree. I hate getting up in the morning though. I usually stay in bed longer than I should! It's nice to wake up and think 'It's a new day! Let's do something!' After I eat breakfast and take a shower though, I'm ready for the day. In the evening, I just want to go to sleep and relax, but usually I have stuff to do, like homework. So, I think I'm more of a morning person once I get up and ready to do things.

Yes I am more active and alert in the mornings. After lunch, I tend to become sluggish at work.

I, too, am a morning person and am awake by 5 AM. I would prefer to sleep a bit longer, but my body-clock won't cooperate. Daybreak and the dawn of a new day do symbolize new life and a fresh start. I used to watch the bunnies and birds when I lived with my Mom and Dad; it was better than Disneyland. There was an innocence and even other-worldliness in all of the scampering and chirping. It was peaceful and with no intrusion by the rigors of life.
I start to turn into a pumpkin by 8 PM instead of Cinderella's midnight. I just don't do well in the dark. I also do not like to drive at night. Sometimes I purpose to stay awake late to see a show on TV or something, but I'm out like a light way earlier.

I admit that I'm an evening person, but I would like to become more of a morning person. When I sleep in, I feel like I don't get anything accomplished.

Since I was a teener, I'm a morning person. We are eleven brood and it's my duty to wake up at 4 am to cook and clean the dining room. Now that I'm a mother, I still do wake up at 4 am doing all the household chores. In the afternoon, I'm on the computer or watch television shows.

Wow! I admire you for being and early bird and being so hard-working at home. When i wake up it is either I go to my computer at once or just sit on the porch, waiting for the sun to shine, holding my cup of coffee.

I'm an evening person. I used to work at night on my table. Mostly, I begin working at about 10 pm. and sleep at 1 or 2 a.m. I usually wake up 8 or 9 in the morning.
I can accomplish lot of things when everybody in our house are sleeping. No one is disturbing, no one asking questions, no telephone rings and no visitors.
I tried to sleep early but I can't because it is already my practice. When I wake up early for some reasons I'm taking a nap in the afternoon to complete an 8 hour sleep. This is alright for me because I am not employed and I am the one who is holding my time.

Wow, it seems that you work at home or you have an online job. When I was a student, I used to like evening, because in the evening my brain is more active. I think when a person grows older, he/she becomes more of a morning person.

I guess I am more of a morning person than an evening person. But I do love crashing out during the evening, I must say.
The morning has a freshness about it and I tend to wonder what the day has in store for me. The evening though, it great for relaxing as I don't do anything except watch some TV, even if I do often fall asleep! _Derek

Don't you just feel happy when you see the sun rises in the morning? I love to see the first shine of sun in the morning, its kinda nostalgic.
Last summer when we went to the beach, I really insisted on my husband to wake up early just to catch the first sunshine and we did.

Same like you, I really can't function properly in the evening. I just want to relax in the evening, to prepare me for sleeping.

Out of the two, I would have to say I am a morning person most of all. There is just something about the morning that gets me going. Plus, I have to be, so I can get everything that needs to be accomplished done early. Therefore, I can get up and work early, getting everything done and the rest of the day is pretty much a breeze after that.
Still, for some reason, there are a lot of days where I tend to function a lot better in the afternoon or early evening. I really have no idea why this is. Its just something that occurs that his happens. I could be doing the same task in half of the time in the afternoon/early evening than I could in the morning. It is odd a lot of the time.

You adjust well enough depending on what your body clocks craves. I can't do that. There was a time when I had to actually work until dawn, my body can't really adjust to the clock.

Yes i am a very morning person.Even if i sleep late at night sometimes, my body clock would still wake me up at almost the same time everyday. In the morning, one feel recharged and rejuvenated. Energy level is usually at its peak , and then decreases as one goes through the days challenges.
However, there are times when we still have to be at our best in the evenings.I think this can be solved if we take time to rest after lunch or maybe take a nap even for a few minutes only.
We usually feel burnt out later in the day, and so we need a little breaktime during mid-afternoons.

I start my day at 7 am. I think its too late to be a morning person ? I sleep by 11:30 pm or later. So, I am an evening person, I start working after 9 am and my day is busy with office work and coming back to home, there is some TV session followed by MyLot, calling to friends & family, finally after checking my emails before I sleep, its already 11 pm. That is the time when I think of sleeping and it takes another 30 minute to fell asleep.
I give importance to sleep, sleeping is as important as working or doing anything else, a proper sleep works in our favor in the next morning.
